Beware of ualadys. I live in Ukraine and know someone who works in one of the branches. Word has it that they churn out letters factory-style and often write themselves. They do not allow their girls to turn down a man who has requested to communicate with them, even if they dont want to. They did not allow me to go to their office to check them out and ask them questions. They scare the girls so that they dont get in personal contact with a guy or go to another agency. Beware!

Hello livinginukraine, so their is no mis-understandings, how about a url to this site you are advising us of.

Not sure who you are or if maybe these are competitors of yours but I would like to do a little checking myself and you could help me but telling me this agencies web address.

You know someone who told someone who told you is hearsay. You don't condemn an agency on hearsay or I would have been buried a long time ago.

Hello livinginukraine, so their is no mis-understandings, how about a url to this site you are advising us of.
Jack, a few months ago Confidential Connections split their operations into:

-  UA Ladys : http://www.ualadys.com/
-  RU Ladys : http://www.ruladys.com/

(note the plurals Cheesy). They do discourage the exchange of personal info in letters and phone calls, obviously (reading a message from a woman is for free, responding is around $4).

Hi. I joined up specifically to be a part of this conversation due to the illegal nature of the spam being sent by this company.

ualadys is behind a rampant, non-stop series of completely unwanted spam messages using bulletproof email domains.

They spam anyone and ignore all spam complaints, including the random removal of "support tickets" if you actually join up and complain to them about spamming. They know they spam. They do it relentlessly. They don't care that nobody wants to receive it. I don't know how they make any profit from that. It's a ridiculous method of procuring new customers.

Here are some recent examples of their spam messages, received by thousands of people who don't want them:

Quote
Do not ignore me please,
I found your email somewhere and now decided to write you.
Let me know if you do not mind. If you want I can send you some pictures of me.
I am a nice pretty girl. Don't reply to this email.
Email me direclty at [random]@supervisioncare.info

Quote
Hi! I am tired this evening. I am 25 y.o. girl that would like to chat with you. Email me at [random]@anymailonline.info only. You will see some of my private pics.

Quote
Hi! I am bored today. I am 25 y.o. girl that would like to chat with you. Email me at [random]@anymailonline.info only. To see my pics

Quote
Hi! I am bored this afternoon. I am 25 y.o. girl that would like to chat with you. Email me at [random]@anymailonline.info only. Would you mind if I share some of my pictures with you?

The whole thing is a lie, of course. The recipient probably isn't a member of any dating site, nor has there been any prior contact.

They are signing up affiliates to spam these messages to millions of people who don't want them, and then paying the affiliates for replies.

As an aside, starting in November of 2006, the spam messages behind the UALadys come-ons would typically feature reply emails using domains which were hosting an illegal pharmacy site known as "Pharma Shop." They corrected this in March of 2007 when it was too obvious to ignore. It must have been hurting business.

They have quite a horrendous history behind them and as mentioned are most definitely related to Confidential Connections. (Alleged to be the exact same group of people.)

SiL,

Suggest you make use of some SPAM *reporting* tools such as Sp@mX from Hendricom.com. They have a motto for this year "A Spammer in the Slammer" - and are working hard to achieve it. Everyone who receives spam, and reports it through their service, contributes to their goal of stopping unwanted spam, and punishing those who are spammers.

Try it.

- Dan

Oh - BTW - why don't you make an introduction in the Introductions forum, so that we might know a little more about you?

Wayyy ahead of you on that. But after close to a year solid of reporting the spam for this operation, I'm seeing no results. Thus my investigation led here.

I deal directly with a lot of antispam organizations and I'm quite well known for my fight against unwanted relentless spam (notably for illegal pharmacies and stocks.)

I just thought this crucial detail was missing from this discussion. It makes it clear the operators of UALadys have absolutely no care who gets into the system as long as it generates dollars for them.

I most certainly will do so.

Couple more questions:

* Does that website have a Privacy Policy or anything written which states, explicitly, that they will NOT engage in spamming practices?

* Do you know, with certainty, who and where the owners are?

If the answers are yes, and yes - you probably have legal recourse. (I am NOT an attorney, so check with one before acting on my opinions).

I imagine you have already checked into this - but I find most people, myself included, do have legitimate legal claims they are able to press, but the cost or the inconvenience becomes the impediment. In any case, it is a good idea to check to see if you have a sound legal claim - and then decide whether it makes sense to pursue it. One common hurdle which should NOT be a problem here, is that the Defendant would appear to have assets - and that is a good thing if you decide to file.

Just FWIW

I have a story that should be of interest to everyone regarding this agency and its previous form, confidential connections.  In fact, it is my research into the attempted scam that brought me to this forum in the first place...

Over a year ago I began corresponding with a "lady" from the Poltava office of CC Agency.  The letters were nice, frequent, had all the right language and so on.  I liked the "girl" a lot.  finally I requested a live webcam session with her and she refused.  The next day she suddenly had to go to Israel to help her dying grandmother and did not know when she might be back.  Bummer, but, being a newbie and naive I believed it.  So, as it happened I found another girl from the same office that I liked, new set of letters, different "tone" but again, all the right words and thoughts.  In a shorter time I requested the webcam session and again a refusal and this time the girl just "quit" the agency with no notice.  That was enough for me.

I contacted customer service and got the runaround for over one month.  being the persistent guy that I am I kept calling and demanded to speak with the owner.. the infamous Steven S.  He suprised me by being responsive to my issues and promised to look into it.  After a short time passed he reported he was unable to find anything wrong, but, offered to refund my money spent and did so through the site.  I recieved back every penny spent, including the $150 for English lessons for the first girl given as a b-day gift that "she" never used.  I was satisfied and felt vindicated.  However, I must add that I had continued to do research into this girl and stumbled across her profile on another site that still sells personal contact info.  So, now I had her address and home phone number.  I got one of my russian speaking friends and we made the call.  The girl had never heard of me, never went to Israel and wanted to remove herself from the CC site.  Steven S. could not refute this information and no matter what his agency manager in Poltava told him it was all lies.

So, I was ready to drop the whole thing as a lesson learned.  I got my money back.. what more could I ask for?  but then, a few weeks later, I got a virulent letter from the manager of the Poltava office accusing me of this and that and the letter was right on the verge of being threatening.  So, I copied it and sent it off to Steven S.  I told him that I was furious with the content of this letter, I demanded no further contact with his scam agency and informed him that I had already contacted a class action lawyer and was in the position to solicit other men who had bad experiences with his agency.  If I recieved even one more contact from him or anyone representing him I would pull the trigger on the class action suit and name Steven S. in the case.

Within two days the CC site was offline.

A few weeks or maybe a month later it reappeared as UALadys.  Steven S. is no where to be seen on the site but I think we can all be certain he is still somewhere in the shadows counting the money and sniggling at the stupidity and desperation of the men who fork over their hard earned money.

UAladys aka CC is totally a scam. I went there in 2006, and the good thing for me, I traveled by my own and paid nothing to them except letters and meeting fees. I met the woman I am still dating in front of the elevator going to their office.

only one letter over 3 was genuine and even in this case, romance was added. It seems to be well known that they hire students, even engaged to meet men. I have met after one other girl who was on the site and she was not even aware that I have written to her. I have still a profile with them (1m55, 55years old , 95kg) and I receive my mail from a lady who is eager to meet me every week.
