Kwajalein Atoll

  Decided to go contracting one last time. This is one very beautiful island. I've never seen water this blue and clear. 2300 miles west of Hawaii. Been here almost six months now. Heading back to Ukraine in a few months. The woman misses me something terrible Anyone here ever been to this island? Has a small army base on it.

I never took advantage of an opportunity to go down range.  Wish I had have now.  Have sent you many incoming from VAFB over the past 40 years.  LOL

 I am out here for a construction project called Space Fence running the concrete plant. About a 2 year project. Kind of a  Margaritaville atmosphere.

Wow, I completely forgot about that place.  Spent a couple of nights there during a WESTPAC cruise.  We literally bought all the alcohol the little stores had.

Beautiful but holy hell, I don't think I could stay there for an extended period of time.  Talk about island fever!

Good to see you back facetrock. Never been to Kwajalein Atoll but it's on my "to do" list. Just kidding. I like Hawaii though. Kwajalein Atoll is part of the Marshall Islands. Americans and Japanese fought there during WW2. Any interesting museums there?

I was a B-727 captain in Continental Air Micronesia (Air Mike) for a couple of years in the 90's. We flew to Kwajalein as part of the "Island Hopper" route (Honolulu-Johnston-Majuro-Kwajalein-Kosrae-Pohnpei-Truk[Chuuk]-Agana, Guam); seven flights, 4400 miles, all in one day. Best airline flying of my 29 year career with Continental (now, United).

Never been to Kwajalein........but went to college for two years in Hawaii. It was a small private college.....about a thousand daytime students......named Chaminade College. There were probably two dozen students from Kwajalein. I dated a girl from there.
