...My grandmother was Indian, and having lived through times when it was viewed pretty poorly she never mentioned it. I cant fault her for simply avoiding a subject that traditionally wasn't cool for her...

Do you mean actually from India or "Native American?"  Either would be quite unusual for those on this forum.

I see you missed a category-met through family or friends.  I met my wife through the Russian Womens underground.  I knew a lady who had a friend who knew a friend of Sofia, we were told good things about the other and our e-mails were exchanged and bingo.  We did the e-mail thing, then quickly went to skype and phone calls (thank god for cheap calling cards). I flew to Korea for a few weeks and then she was able to obtain a 2 year B-2 visa and came to visit me in Texas a month later where I took more time off of work.

Best decision I ever made!  :D

I'm not Jumper, but my great, grandfather claimed to be part American Indian.  However my genealogy research never turned up any evidence of such.  I think he just thought it was something interesting to say.

Anyway, I can't ride a horse bareback, so I have my doubts.

I did like to shoot a bow and arrow as a teenager and could do pretty well.

I posted it on RWG years ago..
Native, grandmother was Sioux, my grandfather was half. When they married he was 16  and  she was 14 . it was arranged. They were married for 64 years before her death, and had those congratulatory letters from the President for enduring marriage. So much for knowing someone before marriage?Anyway, you can easily see it in my fathers face, and a bit in my older brother. My father can live on the reservation if he chooses to.He would drop dead first. As more than a 1/4 degree I could as well.As is, my employer gets their minority hiring box checked, that's about the only benefit.

Can you open a casino somewhere?
Are you eligible for royalties for oil or some such?
Maybe can claim a few hundred acres somewhere.
Might be a lot of angles here.   :D

Need some investment expertise?   8)

well ML, there are several sioux tribes, most of whose benefits are very minimal.I think my fathers oil checks are about 18 cents per month...when oil is way up per barrel.I doubt investment expertise is required, other than to make it clear to the administrators that its not worth the stamp or paper to send it? I'm sure he cashes them for beer, if that helps enforce an old  stereotype.

On topic..

It occurred to me that more than a few RW ,married with WM,we know,  are not really open to just anyone with how they met.I'm sure the stigma is natural to want to avoid.
So while I agree with GQ's premise..that all should have nothing to hide or be embarrassed over..As a couple the man should respect that maybe his wife wouldn't share those feelings, for whatever reason. One main one being RW in general are simply not as open to strangers or casual acquaintances about anything ..however minor or mundane.

I met my wife on a Russian social networking site, which is not really on the list

We first met in Ukraine at a social event for business associates.

We were both married to other persons at that time, and had no more than a few pleasant sentences of conversation . . . and had zero romantic interest in each other.

Some years later we were both without spouses, and she sexually assaulted me.

I was preparing for my 6th visit to Russia. I dated a realtor for awhile in Tver, Russia. Then I dated a doctor in Moscow....for awhile. There was a guy named "Commodore Steve" who had an agency (in about 5 or 6 locations)....and a very entertaining website. You really felt part of a "club". His main office was in Stavropol, Russia. Through his website.....I really became interested in Stavropol. Beautiful city.....safe....clean.......very nice people. I was not interested in saving an RW from a crappy city. I wanted to find someone from a nice place.....a place I would like to visit in the future if things worked out.

My plan was to find someone who spoke English.....and who would be my interpreter/guide while visiting Stavropol. I had been a member of RWG since 1997. A new site was mentioned by a forum member......"TrueLoves.com. I skimmed the site for awhile and found almost a dozen RW's from Stavropol. One in particular caught my eye. She was 38y.o.........had a degree in English Language/Literature.....and had been teaching english at an international language institute for about 15 years. I contacted her via e-mail. I asked her if I could hire her for 4 or 5 days......as a guide. She agreed. She asked if I needed an apartment....I said yes. The apartment was very nice and I paid $9us a day.

There was about 3 months before my trip. At first the phone calls were every 10 days or so.....then every week......every few days.....then almost daily. Phone calls were from 30 - 60 minutes long. Even though we had not met in person....I self like we had become..............."friends". She picked me up at the airport.....leather jacket.....5' 3".....goofy little leather cap.....covering half of her face. We spent all night talking.......but not as strangers meeting for the first time. We fit. I was there for three weeks....and we never missed a day of seeing each other. After a few days she introduced me to her Mother, Sister & 4yo niece. Several days later...she introduced me to her
co-workers at her job. A few of them pulled me aside and said "I" was very lucky to have her show even a "little"....interest in me. It was on this day that I new I was on to something.

At the end of 3 weeks she took me to the airport. I gave her the money she earned.....she pushed back....but I said a "deal is a deal". She never asked for money.....I never offered. She had a good job and took care of herself long before I came along. Flying home....I knew I was going to marry this girl. It was matter of fact......I was at peace....and I was sure she felt the same. 18 years later.......I have no regrets.

God making the white man look bad…how hard is it. Ya all go in for the maybe a peck on the cheek, maybe a sweet soft peck on the cheek or loving embrace followed by a shy embrace and a couple of sentences.

Alright I went in for the full blown makeout. I threw my bag to the side. I’ll be honest. I seen that little rocket peek around the baggage check and I thought to myself..woah…this one looks hotter in person. I thought she was chubby online but her rack was the lie. So I just grabbed her and made out with her. I heard of the conservative way they’d act. I didn’t care. Worked in my favor. So yeah
