The new Animal Farm?
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:54:31 AM »
Meet the new Russian version of Animal Farm:

excerpt from article
"Market watchers are almost unanimous in saying that Yevtushenkov's house arrest is a move by the government and state-owned oil giant Rosneft to take control of his oil company, Bashneft. Rosneft is seeing his oil output falling and has been hit by Western sanctions, whereas Bashneft is enjoying a boom, posting an industry-leading 11.5 percent rise in oil production in the second quarter this year.

The Investigative Committee, Russia's top criminal investigative agency, on Tuesday charged Yevtushenkov with money laundering and placed him under house arrest. He could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty.

Yevtushenkov runs and controls Sistema, a sprawling conglomerate which includes Russia's largest mobile operator MTS, Bashneft and other assets. Bashneft, with a market capitalization of $6.7 billion, is one of a few oil companies still in private hands.

Sistema's shares lost 38 percent by late afternoon on Wednesday, wiping more than $2.5 billion from its share value in just one trading day."

Putin is by far the richest leader in the world and one of the richest men on the planet. He will be much richer with his soon to be acquired companies. He did little in the private sector to earn this wealth. My guess is he steals companies, receive bribes from oligarchs so they'd get his blessing to operate a business in Russia, and steal taxpayers money. Maybe I'm wrong and the Russian people actually pay their president handsomely?

Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

There are 7 commandments in the famous book Animal Planet, by George Orwell.  The most important one is:  All animals are equal.  This is later modified to:   "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Farm

Clearly this has been the case in Russia for the past century.  Whether one was an elite in the Soviet Union and above the law, or now an elite in V. Putin's Russia and above the law; that has been a constant definer of Russia:  No rule of law, except for the chosen ones.

Previously a Billionaire Oligarch would put his fortune at risk only if he challenged Putin politically, like Khodorkovsky.  Now with this latest arrest of a Billionaire who was just minding his own business, but very successful at it, has the Animal Farm entered a new phase?
