There have been men here who's hired investigators to spy on their lady. Some learned their woman was banging other men. Many here don't recommend doing that but it's your life, take care of it. If you feel she's never around Friday and Saturday nights to answer your calls, she may be too busy for you and not worth marrying. If you're having lots of bad feelings, it's best to save your money and look for a woman that gives you no doubts.

Dude are you paranoid?
One thing that is needed in international dating is a little bit of trust. If you have one foot in the trust bucket, and the other foot in the anti-trust bucket you will never get anywhere. Either take the risk to trust her, or dump her.  I would not use an investigator, you are asking for trouble. Until you put a ring on her finger and add her to your bank account you are just another no-show. Just assume she is smooching every root in Kyiv and banging the boss for position....Life is hard here and you do what you can to survive.

And you are going to pay an investigator from another country and know that he is going to do a job for you??
This is Ukraine!!! Send me her name and a 1000 bucks....what would you like to see in the report!  I'll write that right up while you WU me a grand....

Rule #1 never send money to someone you haven't met.....maybe you need more skoolin

Let me reinforce something that has been said here time and again:

If you have any doubts that you are the man for your woman, you have the wrong woman.  End of story.

A woman will let you know, again and again that you are her man.

True . . . but then there are those who don't have doubts when they should have doubts.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

You are overlooking the actress factor.

I understand that the OP may no longer be around, but this may come in handy for another member in the future.

My Russian wife would agree with OSO.

In the FSU, private investigators are typically either former Security (KGB/FSB) operatives, or current ones who earn a little extra on the side. In the FSU mindset, justice and impartial investigations are unheard of typically.

You are likely to hire someone who all his career has been assigned cases where the outcome was predetermined by superiors, and his job is to go out and dig up evidence to support the preordained verdict. So, it is very, very, very likely that he will ask about your misgivings. You will tell him your suspicions and fears. While you hope that what he finds will clear the air, one way or the other, he is going to go out and find whatever it takes to confirm your fears--even if evidence has to be manufactured. That is how he was trained, and it is what he knows how to do.

Finding someone under suspicion to be innocent in his world means being fired. He knows what to do in order to keep business coming in his door.

Follow the advice of the posters above: if you have serious doubts--walk away.

I agree, but I did ask what was he trying to accomplish just in case it was
something fairly routine like does a girl look like her photos, is this apartment
in a good location and is the price of this or that service competitive.

One of those questions we could have probably helped him with but,
likely he wanted some girl investigated to see if she was a good girl, which
is pretty much impossible unless they hired somebody like me (back when I
was single) to go meet and romance the girl, marry her and see how everything
worked out.

With the information that he offered (none) then all we can do is to speculate
and write answers like your excellent advice above designed to help the Lurkers
and newbies who will read this.
