U.S. Suspends Russia Nonimmigrant Visas in Tit-For-Tat Fallout
The United States said Monday it has been forced to suspend nonimmigrant visas in
Russia because President Vladimir Putin ordered it to cut hundreds of diplomatic staff.

The U.S. Mission to Russia said it was forced to cancel all appointments in Moscow
between Wednesday and Sept. 1 because of reduced staffing levels.

Ha . . . I predicted that right here several weeks ago.

I think my prediction was pooh poohed.

If anyone has a K-1 or about to apply for a k-1 visa through the American consulate in Russia and is getting affected by the suspension, let us know how it's affecting you if this even affect k-1's at all.

I think you are wrong  and I am right; but my Uncle Al visits me from  time to time, so who knows?

I don't remember the thread I posted in before.  If you remember, check it out.

I remember that.

Good advice.
Then, as USA - Russian situation deteriorates more, the guy cannot get into Russia for visit - - - even with visa.
Russia stops issuing visas and USA does the same.
Probably same will happen with respect to other Western countries.
And USA is sure to speed up process of giving fiancee visas to the Russian gals.
Not to mention if Russia at some point decides to block their gals from leaving.

And . . . the correct word in your context is moral or morals . . . not morale.

Let's hope this will lead to a virtual stand-still of the visa issuing process by USA in Moscow.

Somebody revived a thread that I posted and link in and surprisingly, it may have answers for the guys doing a k-1 in Russia. Although a K-1 is a non immigrant visa, it's treated like an immigrant visa and processed in the immigrant system.

"Despite being categorized as a nonimmigrant visa, K-1 visas are more similar to an immigrant visa. The cases are pre-processed in the immigrant operating system and applicants face the same security, biometric and background checks as green card applicants. "

Over on the Visa Journey website, those with Russian gals are displaying bravado in saying that USA will not try to stop or delay issuing K-1 visas to their gals . . . and will even give them priority.

I think not.

Also, the K-1 is in a hybrid category by itself.
It is technically a non-immigrant visa that can lead to immigrant status . . . if the conditions are later fulfilled.
Some say they are processed by the immigrant visa section at USA Embassies, even as they are non-immigrant visas.

Those guys may be right.  Denying tourists, business or work visas to people who aren't American citizens aren't a big deal but with every K-1, an American citizen is involved and American citizens will flood the phone lines with calls to their Congressmen and the Congressman will call the American Ambassador to Russia and tell him to make Americans happy by processing their loved ones visas before immigrants.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease and if someone tried to keep my fiancée/wife from being with me, I'm going to make a lot of noise....so I can get some grease.
