WTF!
« Reply #125 on: November 12, 2017, 10:13:17 AM »
How does a smart guy become a fan of the Cowgirls?

I didn't have a favorite team as a kid, except whoever was
playing against Los Angeles.

I watched the Dallas Cowboys and Tony Dorsett beat the
Denver Broncos 27–10 in Super Bowl XII and followed
them, from that time on. My mom went to high school
with Bob Lilly, but it wasn't really a factor

Only by 4 TD. After the loss to Chargers, time to get ready for draft.
I am surprised how ordinary Prescott looks, especially compared to Wentz.

BTW, Duck Fallas.

Wentz is the real deal. Prescott plays more like a 4th round
draft pick in his second year.

Another week...another win by 4 TDs.

We visit BillyB's Sea Pigeons on Sunday.

A tougher game expected but we should make Billy unhappy with another win and 11-1 record.

Wait, he jumped off the bandwagon and isn't watching them anymore this year. Front runner.. ;D

On the home front, Thanksgiving visit to Anne's parents was nice. Met her family for the first time. Cool brothers. Her sister is a bit crazy.

Anne is the one for me. :luv:

We are going away to Switzerland for New Year's. Might pop the question somewhere in Grindelwald or may be Jungfraujoch or St. Moritz.

She is local to me. I take her Spin Cycling classes.

A myth I would like to debunk. Apparently American women are fat. One of the reasons I see guys give for going overseas. They haven't seen the 14 women out of 20 in the Powerlifting classes I go to. All these women lift at least 200 in sumo deadlift and many lift that much in squats. They are lean, toned and pretty. The trick is to find one that is not a feminazi. I found her.  :D

You have debunked nothing.

We all know there are slender women in USA.

It's just that their proportion here is much less than in FSU.
As a result, they can be very picky.

They can be more picky, likely because of a closer gap in oppurtunity, finances, socially.

That generally  transcends  BMI.
Same for similar cultures of Canada, UK, Australia etc?

Just out of interest Wall, did you find the girl you were seeing in Nikolaev had a pushy kind of personality at all?

I think I have found the majority of city women to be very career-obsessed. I think it's true not just in UK, Australia etc (western developed nations) but also in highly developed, ultra-urbanised cities in other regions of the world.

I happen to have quite a large extended family in Southeast Asian Metropolis Singapore. There, 3 out of 5 of my Singaporean Aunts, already in their 50s, remain "happily" unmarried (their own opinion). 1 out of 5 has decided not to have children but opted for adoption instead even though financially, she and her husband could have more than been able to give birth to and support at least 3 or 4 kids. Interesting enough, all wanted for themselves the right man (their elusive "knightly prince in shining armor") which never worked out in the end for most.

I think what I'm trying to say is, perhaps city girls grow to become perfectionists and that's what is making it so hard for men to get picked and eventually married successfully, especially given the chance that these girls may always be on the lookout for better "deals" and then divorce their "old knight" for a "better" one. Analogous to getting a new toy >:(

Albeit slightly offtopic observation:
All (my working aunts) are now making so much surplus income, yet they still spend most of their time on work, pursuing for more. What's even more fascinating is listening to one of my single aunts talking about her altruistic plans to donate most of her savings to a Buddhist charity in faraway Nepal.  :o I have no doubt about her conviction but it just seems...counterproductive (perhaps this isn't the right word)? After decades of working hard for career and money, now she plans to give most of it away very soon?  :-\ All sounds nuts to a 24 year old like me  :wallbash:

In the case of your Aunt (and many other men and women), I don't think it's a case of working hard to earn more and more money.  Yes . . . up to a point.

But for many, there is a lot of personal satisfaction from working at high level jobs and seeing the results.  The money (past a point) is just icing on the cake that can then be used to spend on others, give away, etc.

And, to the old saying:  There is more pleasure in giving than in receiving.

As a side issue:  My 95 year old Mother still sends me $50-100 on my birthdays, Christmas, etc.  It is completely silly (and inefficient since I send her tens of thousands of dollars each year) . . . but when I tell her to stop . . . she reminds me what pleasure she gets in sending these gifts.

Ugh...we lost to BillyB's Sea Pigeons. Wentz played an ordinary game for him. He lost a fumble at the 1. Threw for nearly 350. Was spectacular on a few plays. But not good enough. We deserved to lose. Wake up call. Too bad BillyB didn't watch his team's Super Bowl game for the year. Or did he? My guess is he did but the front runner won't own up to it.

I look forward to us kicking the Cowgirls' ass in a few weeks.

:D You give very interesting perspectives. Perhaps at some point in life, people do derive more pleasure from giving rather than earning. It’s just that at my age, as a slave of the financial system  :crackwhip: in a cheap postgraduate position, the 24 year old me would think it’s borderline madness to donate any portion of my savings, unless it’s for my children maybe. I guess this just proves I’m not financially stable enough for now  Ladies beware  :P
Sincerely,
Kyn

Apologies Wall for others getting carried away on what I say. I was asking about whether you thought the girl you met was pushy overall in attitude? Question for lost in all the arguing of others on here I think.

How about let Trench post his advice and have confidence that the readers will prefer your advice. Putting him down every post only makes it look like you fear people will choose his advice over yours. Don't be so insecure. The Trench bashing virus is the worst virus of them all right now.

Anne and I just returned from a vacation in Turks and Caicos. Loved the Parrot Cay resort. We decided to get married there in May. You guys should check out this island, if you haven't already. Beaches are incredible. Never seen better anywhere.
