Yes Gator, THE Civil War, I imagine the Texas guys using the  Confederate Flag as a wall covering or bed spread  :P

The confederate flag in most northern states symbolizes racism, and redneck mentality. I'm not saying that's true with everyone that owns one, maybe they are just proud of their Southern roots, but out here in Cali if you see somebody flying that thing proudly, you pretty much know where they stand politically and racially, but thats a topic for another board maybe, nothing Russian about that.

p.s. on second thought, there's a lot of that going on in Russia at the moment too.

Disclaimer: Knowing how proud Texan's are, I want to make it clear I didn't mean anything deragotory in the previous post.

I have Texan friends (also from Corpus Christie) who have lived in California for more than 30 years, but still don't claim Cali as their home. They have Texas stuff all over their house, and "Don't mess with Texas" license plate frames  :D

I'm also a life long Dallas Cowboy's fan, and yes I am very happy about our playoff chances, Romo is the man!

My FSU wife was the first one I met and the only one I ever dated.  At the time I began writing to her I was also corresponding with women in the US as well as Colombia, Great Britain, Australia, etc.  With her there was a connection that I hadn't felt with anyone else.  Like was mentioned by someone here before, it had nothing to do with where she lived other than the influence that place had on her life and the development of the qualities that attracted me.  And to be honest, I could have never found a woman with her beauty, intelligence and talents in the US, and even if I did, I could never get to first base with her.  I think this gets to the heart of the issue.  If an AW had all of the qualities of my wife, she would quickly develop an attitude and could pick and choose her suitors.  In the FSU, there is an abundance of such women and a shortage of quality men, so they are more open to having a relationship with normal men such as myself.  It's all about supply and demand.
This is very genuine answer. Respect!

Not true, Kemo Sabe, I was born in the Lone Star State of Texas, I didn't emigrate from anywhere.

I've almost come to despise that PC insinuation that we are all emigrants here. I am not an emmigrant either. I was born and raised here and I am AMERICAN!! My grandfather actually fought in WW1 for the Germans, and after the war legally emmigrated to this country and proudly proclaimed his American citizenship. I am not German-American, I just have relatives who came from Germany. My allegiance is to America.
As for my wife, it will be her decision if she desires to take American citizenship. If you were to ask her now, she'd say no. In 5 years, who knows?
She had no desire to come to the U.S. She's only here for me. Her qualities far out weigh most western women's qualites. At least the ones I was meeting. It's why I married her.

My family immigrated from Germany in the 1880's I remember my great grandmother - never spoke a work of English and my grandmother's was very broken. My grandfathers first wife died in childbirth and them married my grandmother, a lot younger - imagine that!
Anyway I was brought up in a small midwestern town raised around the ways of the old country where the men worked hard and their wives took good care of them.
After several failed relationships I realized that I needed someone along the lines of the women I was raised around, someone with the ethics of the family I was born into.
I found her - she's Russian / grandmother is German, and she  is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Mark,

I'd love to hear more of your story...  Where and how you met your wife? The dating process and your trips to FSU?  Early experiences?  Things that might have surprised you... etc

I can identify with your comments about being raised in the ways of "the old country" and the relationship between male and female responsibilities.

I often read "warnings" in RWD about how "strong" a RW/UW can be and am a little amused after growing up in a family where all women were "strong".

Cheers,

Kuna

This is often said in the context of being a "myth" buster. If you read/have read much of what is written on many of the agency sites you would think that these beautiful young women want nothing more than to be at your beck and call 24/7. If a man goes into this with that expectation he will be in for a very rude awakening when he finds out that this woman has a will of iron behind those pointy high heels.

Kuna,
We met through mutual friends, a great way to met someone and weed out the scammers!
Otherwise no big surprises.

A couple of years ago I tried to get on the TV series Survivor - I asked my better 1/2  if she would like to apply also, her reply - she had to be a survivor all her life and wasn't at all interested. Yes she is strong, she had to be.

I lost my job due to 9-11, no unemployment, no work to be found around here.
It was her being strong that keep us together, enduring the hard times and putting up with me being gone for weeks on end working 400 miles away.

I know not many AW would have held up and stuck with me like she did.
