If you live near a large city, I'd agree.. but Greater Sochi is around 400k population and if you want something different - quality... You have to go to a BIG city - Moscow is 2 hours flying time. Choice is limited and - frankly - expensive - compared to the EU, N.America or other western nations.

What about Krasnodar?  It's the regional capital and has a population of well over a million people.  Admittedly I wasn't looking at the shops while I was there, except for one quite large home decorating store where I spent time talking to the owners, but I would have thought that it was big enough to have quality clothing retailers.

Krasnodar is a - nearly  - six hour drive ..much of it 'serpentine' ..windy roads

It is so far that many people fly there from Sochi .

Having been there twice - sorry, folk from Krasnodar - I saw nothing to rush back for - including fashion shop browsing  :(

I know.  I went by train.

Surprisingly, the train service tends to be sparse during daytime hours and it is a bit extreme for most to travel so far to go shopping  ;D

Yes, but were you actually LOOKING??  ;D

I tend to find the lady knows where these palces are, already  :D

The lady I met was from Novosrossiysk, had a successful biz and knew all the best boutiques ;)

There is a limit to the number of times one can apply for a Russian Visa.

So, when Svietik.Coral said she could get a week in a five star Turkish resort..all inclusive' for less than it would cost to get to London and get another visa, the decision was made.

I took a charter flight from the UK and booked the same place via a Russian Travel agent.

I am the ONLY English as a first lang speaker and it's GREAT.

The Turkish people like it when I say please and thank you in their language ( It is an unfortunate ommission for most FSU people ). I feel like royalty and S.C loves it ))

This place ..Club Zigana..near to Kemer on the south coast has mountains that rise from the sea and is a huge fav with FSU people.

This is a great place to bring a partner on vacation.
