Buying gold in Russia
« on: October 05, 2021, 12:55:19 AM »
Has anyone here bought gold in Russia?  I mean for investment as in gold coins or bars, not jewelry.

I read once somewhere online that it's better to buy gold overseas than domestically.

Does anyone concur?

I understand gold prices are the same worldwide.  I mean if there are other advantages.

Any serious portfolio should be at least 10% in precious metals.

But surely you wouldn't dream of buying physical gold in Russia.

Pretty dumb to buy physical quantities of any precious metals.
Too much in the way of transactions costs, not to mention not knowing the true composition of the items . . . could be filled with lead.

There are mutual funds denominated in gold which one can buy if you want that item in your portfolio.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Better way to invest in gold is to purchase share in gold miners, etc...when the metal goes up in value, so do the profit on those companies. Same thing with silver. YMMV.
