The articles bias is as bad as Moby's.
Er JayH
1/ I simply preferred the Russian song to Ukraine's and though Australia's was better still - you are guilty - once more of reading what you thought you saw - not was was said.
2/ I'm 'watched' and my profile is not my own handiwork in another place for pointing out many of my posts on MH17 /Crimea/ BBC 'bias' / Brexit / de-dollarisation, etc., never see the light of day -so you'll forgive me for this
re 'bias' ..
Don't confuse my preference for accuracy as 'bias' - I dislike propaganda / misinfo from any source
Russia does not understand the free voting democratic process!
This is a about a song contest - not a Russian 'electoral' process
The irony of Russia complaining about process !!maybe they can get the scrutineers from the Crimean 'referendum" to supervise next time!
The result was a vast majority in favour of 'rejoining' - the issue was the polarisation campaign, before - scare-mongering - as if Ukraine was going to take military control of the peninsula - use of force to remove the Ukrainian govt and infrastructure, the options given and the numbers who stayed away - couldn't / didn't vote. The referendum was a 'farce' - but the overall result, wasn't.
For sure, I got the irony about Russia complaining.
What is funny is that Russia was really trying to win and placed so much stake on it.They sent a big established Russian "star" with and over produced pre planed production.
The professional judges saw it for what it was worth ie not a winner!
Some - professional judges - mostly from the same nations - chose not to give it any marks. I think that was 'interesting'
Let's be honest, JayH .The winning song sailed close to the wind, politically and the Kremlin got a reminder that it's stunts in Ukraine got noticed and aren't forgotten.
But all this will do is gain Putin support ...Russians will believe the world's out to get them...
It would have been better - politically- if Australia had won
