Well I'll keep my methodology a secret ;D I'm confident it will work for me this time. Will help avoid sideling this thread as I think drsecu experience is worth focusing on here.

Regarding how many persons of the opposite sex might work out, 1 out of 5, one out of 10, 20, etc. . . .

Think of the situation folks have faced over hundreds of years, particularly in small cities.

e.g. In a small farm community there may have been only 3 girls and 3 boys in a particular grade.

And often these folks paired up into 3 marriages that lasted for 50 + years.
I have seen it in my Grandparent's generation.

I have seen cases where children in one family married children from the next farm.

They made it work, because there was no alternative.

In today's world, it is possible we have too many choices.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

I spent a week in Samara back in 2002. I was dating a doctor from Moscow. She was an advisor at a large pharmaceutical company. On my second trip to visit her we stayed in St. Pete for a week......then in Samara. Her Mother was staying with her sister for the summer. I really liked both her mother and he aunt. I could see her aunt was a real "wild child"..........when she was younger ( she still was). Samara was a little over a million people......but felt much small. Beautiful man-made beach on the Volga river. Volleyball courts, many food venders, jet skis, boats......and the occasional cruise ship. The waterfront was beautiful. The Volga is very wide......like a large lake......in Samara.
As it leaves Samara in the South......it becomes constricted again. Nice huge hills and beautiful topography. Many beautiful women. Very nice outdoor market. I think..... a very nice place place to live.
