Protein is one of major factors in growing taller.

So I never understood the lower height of most Asians because many of them have a diet of high protein fish.  But maybe the western diet of beef, pork and chicken, along with some fish, overwhelms the higher fish diet Asians have.  Not an expert on this.

My theory about this is: Diet

1. Any population whose primary diet consisted of larger portion of 'rice' - then everything else - generally have limited height/growth potential. Rice literally have 'zero' nutritional benefit. This is not only true for Asian folks, but also to the indigenous population of South America. While 'protein-rich' food or other animal-product like Milk, is beneficial to both growth and body/muscle mass, it also shortens the cells' reproduction life cycle. Asians and native south Americans seem to appear younger for their age in relative comparison.

2. Use of feed stocks i.e. growing mass/growth hormones > secondary effect.

I think Westerners diet contains more calcium. Bones have to grow to be taller.

BINGO!

Proven in studies in Japan.  Japanese children showed dramatic increase in height when their diet was changed to include more dairy products.  My good friend, the former Dutch Agriculture Attache to Japan told me that one.  He was there promoting cheese.

He tried the same in the Soviet Union (my first  trip to Moscow in 1986).  The Soviets wanted to import cheese, but only if the Dutch accepted cement as payment rather than currency.

Ochka has had very stressful last couple of weeks with preparing for tests for classes she is taking in PhD program, preparing for one on one meeting for an independent study class and grading exams for her own students.

Today was the last exam for a couple of weeks, so she was ready for some celebration.

And tomorrow is her birthday.  However, she had already been invited to another event tomorrow, so we decided to have our nice restaurant meal this afternoon.

Remember, in their culture it is a no-no to do a complete celebration before the actual day, so she stopped me when I started to sing 'Happy Birthday' when she arrived home from University.

But, to not seem too harsh on me she said:  Today I will just celebrate my last day of being X years old and tomorrow I will be X+1.

However, I quickly refreshed my calculations (which I already knew for certain) and said:
No today you are X-1 and tomorrow you will be X.

She thought for a moment and said: Oh mine Gott; you are right. WOW I will not be as old as I thought.  She kept beaming for a long time.

Of course if she hadn't been so stressed she never would have been off by a year in her initial thinking.

I did however violate the rule when we were ordering, as I knew that this restaurant gave free dessert on one's birthday . . . so I told our waitress.

Ochka was not unhappy about it.

As a follow on to my story regarding age of wife.

This morning her parents called on Skype to say Happy Birthday.
Her Father told her that she was X-2 years old.
Mother correctly said, no she is X years old.
Father was not convinced.
Later in unrelated discussion, Mother said something about today being October 30th.
Ochka said . . . How can you think it is 30th when you called me for my birthday . . . 26th.
Mother said:  OMG, how old and forgetful are we becoming ?

There were times I dated FSU women and couldn't meet them on their birthday. I told them I would like to take them out to celebrate and asked if they prefer a day before or after their birthday. They always said after.

My mom is the 2nd out of 11 and I thought that was a big number. I don't see many big families today.

My mother was one of 10 children.  My father was one of 12 children.
As result, I have about 50 cousins.
Am not close physically or connected to any of them.

I certainly did not know this:  More and more women are going under the knife for designer vaginas.

Women should not eliminate all pubic hair.

I watched a program on TV a fair few years back now about women getting 'designer vagina's'. Online material can be found detailing the visual difference on each style of vagina. Beyond each category style every vagina is of course unique but of course cones with all the same usual features.

Apparently the vagina most women want is called 'the Barbie' due to its clean curve which hides any bits poking out. This though can make it harder for guys to see clearly where to insert. Sometimes a bit of an obvious entranceway can be a pleasing sight :)

Trench,

You are always a hoot with your opinions based on what you saw on the net / TV ...

Then, you manage to post something that confirms that it  IS the extent of your 'experience'...((

In the UK such fixes are called 'fanny-plasts' in the 'biz'of those who performed such ops.

Yup our 'cousins across the pond' even managed to apply said tern 'fanny' and make arses of themselves...?!

To 'bump your fanny' in the US means something elsecover there....

I learned such when in the UN a sweet lassie from the British Embassy gave me a bad look.  First time I heard "bonnet" was a car body part.

When Fanny Hill was written, was "fanny" the same "fanny" of today.   So why did Ian Fleming not call his character Fanny Galore?

Remember when your mother told you to be sure to have clean underwear because . . .
'what if you are in an accident and they take you to hospital.'

I was reminded of that when Krimster gave advice as to have clean underwear in FSU.

So my true story:

One morning many years ago, I was due to go walking with a group of guys here in USA.
When I put on my clean undershorts that morning, I noticed that the bottom area had developed a large hole.
But I thought, what the heck, I will just wear them anyway and then throw away when I get back home and shower.

Of course,  yes . . . I was T-boned at an intersection by woman on her mobile phone.
Ambulance came, took me to emergency room, had several broken ribs, a broken finger and some other cuts and bruises.

So while I am on first table they cut off my jeans . . . and then before I knew it, a young resident/intern stuck his finger in my butt and announced 'prostate OK.'  Even in my severely pained state, I realized he had probably been tasked with practicing on 10 or more prostates on this day, as there was little chance that broken ribs would be accompanied by prostate damage.

But imagine his surprise when he saw there was a large hole in my shorts right where he needed to do his work !!

And imagine how many of his colleagues he reported this to that day, and on many occasions thereafter.

I have never told this story to my Mother.

ML...
prostate exam?
it WASN'T his finger....
they'd NEVER check your prostate under those conditions....
I'm sorry to have to tell you this...
I hope the memory of this incident doesn't interfere in your enjoyment of a normal sex life...
if it does, then I'd have you wife sue that hospital for "alienation of affection"...
that bastard taking advantage of you like that...
you sound REALLY traumatized by it,.... well, actually, only a LITTLE traumatized by it, ya know come to think about it, you DON'T seem traumatized by it!!!
mind if I ask, what color were his eyes?
hey, a doctor, nudge! nudge!

Cool story bro. Another reason to wear the dirtiest, stinkiest, poo and piss stained underwear you can create everyday so you don't get sexually assaulted when you're in a state where you can't defend yourself.

so this guy in Russia, is having stomach and GI issues, and so he eventually goes to this old village doctor and tells him about his problems....

the old doctor tells him to go to the nearby city to have some tests done
and in a few days come back to his office and he’ll have the test results...

so he does as he’s told, and returns a few days later...

the doctor tells him, I got good news AND bad news...
the good news is we know what the problem is...
the bad news is, it’s a  GIANT TAPEWORM!!!

now there’s normally a very difficult and painful surgical procedure to get rid of a tapeworm of such a large size, however the doctor who performs our prostate exams is ALSO a specialist in TapeWorm removal, so I am going to refer you to him....

“Hello!  I am pleased to meet you, please to return once each week to this office and bring hard boiled egg, cookie and a hammer!!!  thank you, Next Tape Worm patient please...”

so next week, the guy comes back carryin a little paper bag with a hard boiled egg a cookie and a hammer

weird prostate doctor says, “please to lower pants and undwear”, then the doctor took the hard boiled egg and inserted into the man’s rectum, then waited a minute and inserted the cookie,

the man panicked thinking the hammer was next, but sensing this, the doctor said, “that is good” you can go now, but we must do again next week”

so this goes on for week after agonizing week, until with the most recent office visit, the prostate doctor said, “next week is last week, so next week, ONLY bring hard boiled egg and hammer”

so the final week came and the russian guy showed up with a brown paper bag with a hard boiled egg and a hammer

he dropped his pants and underwear and the doctor inserted the hard boiled egg into his patient’s rectum, and waited....
and waited....
then after a couple of more minutes, a big bug head emerged outta the guy’s rectum
and said, “WHERE’S MY COOKIE”?
AND THE DOCTOR HIT THE TAPEWORM ON THE HEAD WITH THE HAMMER!!!!

         THE END!

Have been looking for ultra lightweight laptop for wife, as she carries to school often.
Most laptops weigh 3.5 to 5 pounds

Found three weighing 2.2 pounds or less.

LG Gram
Acer Swift 5
Asus Pro B9  Not available until sometime in early 2020

I messed around too long and missed sale on LG Gram on Walmart, Amazon and Bestbuy around Black Friday sale days.

Have been checking every day, and just found (and ordered) an Acer Swift 5, 15.6" with I7, 16 GB and 512 SSD at a $480 discount on Amazon.

Regular price $1399, Sale price $919.

Since I lost out on earlier sale of LG Gram, I was ready to pounce on this deal.

Acer Swift 5 Ultra-Thin & Lightweight Laptop 15.6” FHD IPS Touch Display in a thin .23” bezel, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U, 16GB DDR4, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Back-lit Keyboard, Windows 10 SF515-51T-73TY

Years ago I gave my wife an Apple.  She loves it, and unlike the others it has never given her trouble.  I don't know about the weight.  Actually I know very little about computers, laptops, etc.  My knowledgeable friends say LG stands for Lower Garbage.
