I took 290 photos during my visit in Ukraine. I had camera with me only few times, because it's too big. You will not see photos of Tatyana.

Close to Odessa airport.

At Odessa airport we took a taxi and Tanya asked from a driver for a small hotel. I realised that Tanya was economical (is it a right word?). We got into a small hotel. Two rooms. Tanya's room was on the street side. This is a view from my room's balcony to another balcony.

BTW, I had my camera with me once when we walked in Odessa, but photos are not interesting (for me).

Waterfall somewhere around Yalta. Somehow I don't remember where. It was a tour, which had four places to visit.

When I visited in Norway, I knew the names of places and I drove by myself. This was different. Active vs. passive.

I don't remember details anymore. One famous Russian writer spent time in here, but I don't want to write a wrong name, so I leave the detail for someone who knows.

600*400 is quite small size. Originals are 3072*2048. Many photos lose effect in small size. I have examples where the photo looks better the bigger it is. 50*34 cm is quite nice size, I think. I have to test 75*50 cm too with few photos to see is the photo better in this size.

525i, what type camera are you using? Is it digital?

Why is it always like this? When someone shows photos, someone always asks about camera? What kind of an answer should I give?

It is an SLR camera. Yes, it is digital, like every camera in here. SLR is not common yet.

I bet that this answer was not enough, so here are more details: Canon EOS 10D with vertical battery grip. Usually I have EF 17-40/4L attached. I had EF 70-200/4L with me and I used it few times. Other lenses and a flash I left at home. 1GB CF. I shoot in RAW. I had laptop with me (1GB CF is not big enough).

It was a positive surprise that Tatyana wanted to take photos with it and I noticed that she has a good eye for framing (not always). Here is one example with long zoom. She used focal length 168 mm. 10D has smaller sensor than full size sensor. Focal length should be multiplied by 1,6 to get 35 mm equivalence, i.e. the 35 mm equivalent focal length was 269 mm.

well 525i I was wondering about the camera because I was admiring the quality of the photos.  One fine lens that 17-40 L. I just bought a EF 100-300 5.6 L.  Yes, there are not many SLR Digital camera's, that's for sure.

I was so glad you said Canon was the camera used. Being a Nikon man for the past 25 years it was hard to change. But the truth of the matter is Canon passed Nikon in digital technology. The 10D holds up pretty well to the Nikon D70, but that 20D, whoaaaa baby, 8.2 mega pixels. That is one bad camera.

You should see the photos in real size without JPEG compression.

8,2 Mpix is not such a big difference to 6,3 Mpix, I think. Startup time in 20D is great, and more durable shutter and faster write times than in 10D. I am waiting for a bigger sensor body which is not so expensive as 1D and 1Ds (Mark II) are.

I am not quite sure does Canon have passed Nikon. I think they are quite equal.

One funny thing. Our tour guide took a photo of me and Tanya. When she pressed a shutter release, I heard bang, bang, bang. She pressed the release button long enough to take three photos. She wondered what happened. I expalined it to Tanya and Tanya explained it to her. Then she took another photo of us and this time she only got two photos of us. It looks like she has used to a bit slower cameras. BTW, I have continuous shooting mode active all the times, because you'll never know when you need it. Tanya did not have any problems with stutter release.

So, you have 20D. Good buy! BTW, my colleague has 350D. I don't want it. It is too small for my hand and some easy things in 10D are complicated in it.

I believe that Canon does not have EF 100-300/5.6L. Did you buy an EF 100-400/5.6L IS? What do you think of pump zoom?
