Ukraine Exit Visa "PMZ"
« on: March 28, 2005, 02:44:51 PM »
I was wondering who has been thru this lasted hurdle? What's the steps needed? I've heard it could take up to 3 months for the PMZ stamp. Is there any way to speed this up with a 'gift' or two?

What are the possible problems when we go back to visit? Would leaving thru Russia help since they don't require visa's from Ukraine?

We filed a DCF I-130 and all the assorted paperwork in Kiev 3/15 so it'll be about 6/1 when she get's her visa to come stateside. I'm just hopeing that we can get started on the requirements ahead of time. Or should we just skip it?????

Thanks

The PMZ stamp is for Ukrainian nationals living outside UA.  They keep a record of their nationals abroad for taxing purposes.  It has nothing to do with her getting her nonimmigrant visa.  Some may scare you into getting the damn stamp.  My wife has travelled back to UA 5 times and no hassle.  We tried to get the stamp once and got so much run around and hassles that my now "Americanized" wife thru her arms up in the air and told them to shove the damn stamp up where the sun doesn't shine.

My advice, skip the damn thing and enjoy your marriage.
