Great thread, Bill! Hang in there. You will all be back together soon. We had a garden the first two years she was here but she decided it was more cost effective and less time consuming to get our vegetables from the International Store. As long as she is cooking them it is all good :-))

While at home Angel Eyes does 95% of the house hold duties and most
of the cooking during the week. On the weekends I usually cook.

Now that I am living in hotels, some restaurant does the cooking and
I'm eating really crappy food half of the time. They don't have ANY
ethnic food in North Dakota unless you happen to be married to
somebody from another country like I am.

The wildest food they have in North Dakota is pizza or taco bell and
they are so far from the ocean that you never order fish. We would
go out to a restaurant less than once per month because the food
wasn't nearly as good as something we could whip up at home.

Since arriving
in Denver, I've been eating fish again and an occasional ethnic dish
as well.

Today, I did the stuff I usually do on Sunday, I washed my clothes and pickup. caught
up some correspondence that I fell behind on. I rented the movie "Bridge of Spies"
on Amazon but haven't watched it yet.

Whenever, I watch a movie that has some part of the FSU with Angel Eyes she
points out all of the inconsistencies, mistakes etc, with Hollywood there are
always many of them.

Tomorrow, I will go out house hunting (for rent)

Udachi!

Bill, loved the movie "Bridge of Spies" with Tom Hanks! Watched it (twice) on recent Aeroflot flights and soaked it in.

I started a topic on the movie here.

I'm leaving to Seattle for a week, and will travel back to North
Dakota to see Angel Eyes and family. Mini-me is saying Dadadadada
to me on Skype and walking around a bit like a short noisier version of
Yosemite Sam. It will have been 54 days which is far too long to be apart.

Bill,
I finished up reading your trip report, and you have me laughing so hard my side hurts.  I can relate to all of what you are writing.  I have been on the AlCan Highway, and I spent two years in Alaska with the Army freezing my azz off and those stories just brought back good memories.  Little-me looks like he is coming right along, and the diaper story was funny to me because my kids did something similar and it looked like that scene from Dumb and Dumber with the Hershey bar only it wasn't in the rest room it was all over the living room.  Too funny.  Please keep your update rolling along because this is the best entertainment I have had in years.

It's been too good to be true. I've spent several hours crawling around
on the floor making truck, tractor and train sounds with Mini-Me.

I am making a terriaki type stir fry with vegetables, pork and chow mien
for later and of course, I've gotten some nice TLC time with Angel Eyes.

Golden is a very nice little town.

Love those bronzes that are all around town.

And that white water river that runs right through town is fun to watch the boaters in.

Colorado School of Mining a great school.

Bill, I am only on page 1, but this is a great trip report, and very very funny. I cannot stop laughing. I wish you'd come with me to Belarus and provide comic relief. I know there are 38 pages to this trip report, I have not even finished page one, so I will either be up until 5AM reading this (not!) or I will have to spread this out over the entire weekend. I hope there are pics of Mrs. 2TallBill. You are a handsome, good-looking guy and have a great sense of humor (way more important, I think, than physical appearance) so I imagine Mrs. EdTooTallJones (I mean Mrs. 2TallBill) is very beautiful and pretty Woman. I have little doubt your Wife is very lovely. And being married to you, I bet she never stops laughing, from the time she wakes up in the AM to the time her head finally hits the pillow at night. ;)

The other (5) girls from Mamba, I have been skyping with for a few weeks, who are from Belarus......at this point I just don't even care about them any more. I just do not even care about the other girls. My heart is telling me with undeniable certainty that Olya is possibly the nicest girl I have ever met, and it would be a mistake to continue to Skype and chat on VK with the other 5 girls from Belarus, when the only girl I ever think about, now, is Olya and her "Little Princess". I never, never, NEVER even think about the other 5 girls. Olya and her Daughter are the only girls I even think of. I have not communicated with the other 5 girls in, now, 3 days, and I am not sure this is even fair of me to be doing this, as they are all sending me messages on Skype, VK and Mamba asking me "Where are you? What happened to you?" I do not have the courage, I am too chicken, too scared to write them back and explain to them how much I adore my "Princess" and my "Little Princess".

When you find a girl that is head and shoulders above the others, you do the following.

1. Buy a ticket, rent an apartment get on a plane and win the girls heart.
2. Write the other girls a letter short and to the point.

"I am pursuing someone else, I wish you success, happiness and love!"
Udachi!

Your name here.

3. Have a backup plan

4. DON'T POST THEIR PHOTOS ON A PUBLIC FORUM.

Gator has warned you about this, I will warn you about this. Hit the report to moderator
button and ask the mods to remove the photos. They will do it for you if you ask them.

There are @ssholes who have nothing better to do than to use those photos to find
your girl. They will contact her and they will cause you grief that you don't need. They
will find something you said and twist it around to mean something else. This has
happened to me and almost everyone around here likes me.

5. I understand you are excited about this girl, that's understandable, however you
need to remain cautiously optimistic. Remember that it's rare that a guy meets a girl
and everything works out on his first trip.

Udachi!

Trippin in across Minnersohdah
« Reply #945 on: May 09, 2016, 10:31:28 PM »
I arrived in North Dakota scooped up Angel Eyes and Mini Me and
drove East towards Bloomington Minnesota. It's where I have to go
to bring Angel Eyes to her adjustment of status meeting. It's only
9 1/2 hours each way.

So I take off like I've got bees chasing me and zoom across North Dakota
and Minnesota. We stop at a rest stop and I pull out the ice chest that
Angel Eyes put together and we have a picnic lunch. It's Mothers day so
I call my Mom and we go on Facebook chat so she can see Mini Me running
around the park like setting. Mini Me still runs around like he's been in the
saddle a bit too long, but he's definitely getting faster. He has three speeds
full tilt forward, full tilt backwards and full stop, any other speed he is
either accelerating or decelerating.

According to Angel Eyes they don't havedesignated rest stops in Russia,
so you simply pull over anywhere and use the facilities that nature
provided.

I've booked a hotel in Bloomington and we have a 1:00pm appointment
on Victory Day. I've hired a translator for Angel Eyes, her English is good
but she doesn't understand the intricacies of smuggling, drug dealing or
other questions that we've been told will be asked.

The translator arrives before the appointment and we go in to see the
USCIS officer. We provide evidence that our marriage is real, then he
questions me about various things, then questions Angel Eyes on whether
or not she is a spy, a member of the communist party and several pages
of other things that she has never been involved in. I am glad we had a
translator.

At the end of the interview the officer tells us that we passed and we
should receive a letter in a week and a green card in about a month.

I pack Angel Eyes and Mini Me back in the car and make the 9 1/2 hour
trip back to Western North Dakota.

More to follow..................

Trippin in Wyoming
« Reply #948 on: May 15, 2016, 10:34:34 AM »
So, I get back to North Dakota and rent a twenty foot UHaul in Bismarck.
I drive 100 miles West to Dickinson ND and get to work. I have a 25 ft camper
trailer in the back yard. I replaced 3 of the 4 tires (I replace one a couple years ago)
and I get all the trailer lights working. The UHaul truck has a hitch but it's only 2"
and I need a 2 5/16". There is a 2x2 receiver so I buy a buy a hitch that will fit into
that.

Angel Eyes has been working feverishly on boxing all of our belongings and marking
on the boxes what is inside them. I load up every box, stick of furniture and it easily
fits inside the 20 truck with select things in the the trailer.

We wake up at bright and early the next day and despite my plans and threats that
everyone not ready will be left behind I drive off with the trailer in tow during a typical
mid May snow and wind storm. My 25 year old son is driving my Mercedez along with
my family.

A 20ft truck towing a 25 ft trailer make a pretty good sail for the wind which is howling
in different directions pushing or pulling me all over the road as I drive white knuckled
across the wind blasted plains.

During the trip a hard side wind tore the propane tank cover off the trailer.
My son managed to pull over and get it before it was ran over too bad.

Note the photo isn't mine. It's one I found online

I moved to North Dakota with a plan to find and marry a good woman from
the FSU, I accomplished that and with the price of oil down to $40 a barrel
I waved good bye to the state in my rear view mirror.

NOTE: if a woman follows you to North Dakota she is probably a keeper.
