I know that everyone really likes to hear about other peoples illnesses and operations, so . . .

My temperature started rising 2nd night I got back home.
When it hit 102, we headed out to ER around 1 AM.

Did a lot of blood work and CAT and probably some other.

Said it was serious in that possibly some blockage of main liver drain into stomach.

Said I could get sepsis, peritonitis, liver failure and a bunch of other such.

Told my sweet wife that it was possible I could die.

Said there was only one MD in town who was certified to go down esophagus, then a mirror and camera at end could look up the liver drain tube to see if there were blockage and, if yes, a thin wire would extend up and start cleaning.  Sounds pretty unbelievable to me as an 180 degree turn involved here . . .  I didn't really hear any of this until later.

Anyway, that MD was at an another hospital in town, so they put me to sleep, started pumping me full of antibiotics, put catheter in my peter, put the big breathing apparatus down my throat and took by ambulance to second hospital and into ICU arriving around 9 am.

Then the nightmare continued as they couldn't find this one MD and my urine bladder wasn't draining.
So very painful wait for urology guy to show up.  He determined that the first catheter had been inserted incorrectly and had cut through my prostate and perhaps the balloon thingy had been blown up partially in my prostate.

So second catheter inserted with extra ports for cleaning.  They started sucking out from one port, and then pumping saline into second port.  Urine was full of blood and clots.  Had to perform that routine 30 times to finally get all the blood and clots out.
The specialist MD was finally found out of town and wouldn't come back for 2 days.
The surgical MDs here also told wife to be prepared for my death if they couldn't get infection under control or if my liver had been damaged from the incision to cut gall bladder off of the liver.

MRI showed no problems for the incision in liver and several other considerations, but HIDA scan did show that nothing could flow from liver down into stomach which verified a blockage.

After three miserable nights and days, my operation was scheduled for 1 PM.  I had not been allowed to put any food or water into my stomach for three days now because anything in stomach would stimulate liver to pump more bile into the blocked tube.

Anyway, I survived.  The Doc was able to clean out tube and placed a stent at bottom where it tapers down.  I will return in 3-4 weeks for another look-see down there and stent removal.

Meanwhile catheter still inserted so I am carrying the 'bag.'

A lot of pain at site of gall bladder and in my peter which has blood coming out to external but not into bladder, as pee is pretty clear now.

Am confident the gall bladder area pain will resolve, but I am worried big time about urinary tract infection, incontinence, etc., etc.

Anyway, just wanted to brighten your day and take your thoughts off Corona and elections.

Best wishes to you ML, I am pulling for you and yours

ML,

if you selfishly keep your pain and suffering ALL TO YOUR SELF
then THE VIRUS WINS!!!

instead, laugh at it...

what i’d TOTALLY do if I was you
is to draw a face on your undoubtedly enormous willy
add a little wig, and a hat, and big ears...
and while your’re drinking lemonade through a clear plastic straw...
you cut to your willy, apparently doing the same thing in unison with you....

and you can add your own squeaky voice soundtrack
while "manipulating" him into making simulated facial expressions
kinda like he's your ventriloquist dummy
and you have him say, "wen de life give-a you lemons, you make-a lemonade!"
then have him drink some (backwards video)

and then cut to you drinking actual lemonade through a straw
and you say, "yeah Willy, you're right!"
I would be stunned if you don’t get at least a million hits on youtube with something like that

Penis Puppeteers are VERY popular with women!
even "high brow" women!

when I was younger, I did a performance art piece called "Pelican in Flight"
using my scrotum...

and remember...
no matter what, the show must go on!

de nada!!

ML, when considering gall bladder surgery, I had heard of a couple cases with complications  involving the liver duct.  Your case is the worse,  not that it makes you feel better.

Because of gangrene., the surgery was a necessity.  It sounds as if you now have it under control, but must have had some depressing thoughts during this long episode.

Get well soon!

Actually my case was not the worst.  Got PM from another member here who had a much worse gall bladder situation than mine . . . at least until I can continue to develop more problems.

Many thanks to all for their good and encouraging remarks.

Just hearing that there is income limit for getting any checks related to this corona situation.

Seems to be only those below $75,000 will qualify.

Don't know if that will be based on 2019 tax returns and whether it would be Adjusted Gross Income or Taxable Income.

Anyway, I thought it was silly to send to everyone and I was feeling guilty about taking.

No guilt feelings now.

It's based on 2018 return. $75K for single filer, $150K for couple (AGI). $500/child additional. You'll be given two payments. Direct deposit, if not will be mailed. This was based on last Saturday's breakdown, as this seem to be fluid so it may have been modified since.

Not necessarily. The checks get smaller for those making over $75k. This article explains it. Of course things could change last minute since Congress is still debating a few little details.

I was feeling guilty about taking.

Wife says that Russian news is stating that Russia is sending Medical Equipment and Supplies to USA.  And that Donald has thanked Putin.

I did google search and found no such thing.

Anyone else know anything about this?

If Russia does offer to send us anything . . . I hope we REFUSE.

It would be too great of a trophy for Putin and . . . they would expect MUCH, MUCH more back from us when the virus really hits them.

I thought I heard Trump said this in one of the presser recently.

I wouldn't put too much stock over it as I understand the majority of the things Russia sent to Italy, prior to being ignored by the EU and other European nations, were pretty much useless to aid and/or  combat the virus.

Moreover, the medical professionals they allegedly sent were dispatched not from their health ministry but from their defense ministry.

As for China, I read where a Chinese private company sold and sent hundreds of thousands of masks to the Netherlands/Czech but had to send them back because over 80% of them failed, or didn't meet specifications.

Nor would i put much stock re Italy being 'ignored' by fellow EU states .. now or before ...

'PRIOR', adjective; defined: existing or coming before in time, order, or importance.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/not-a-single-eu-country-responded-to-italian-plea-for-help-with-coronavirus

http://www.politico.eu/article/eu-aims-better-control-coronavirus-responses/

http://foreignpolicy.com/2020/03/14/coronavirus-eu-abandoning-italy-china-aid/

~...The Union Civil Protection Mechanism is the bland name under which the EU’s crisis hub—the Emergency Response Coordination Centre—operates. It monitors natural and manmade disasters around the clock, and when an EU member state can no longer handle a crisis on its own it can turn to the crisis hub. The hub forwards the appeal to other member states, which can then volunteer assistance. (The assistance is later reimbursed by the recipient country.)…~

More or less the same US platform called "FEMA".

My wife not typical FSU W in many respects.

We have been working hard setting up Zoom and Crowdmark for her use in teaching Differential Equations on-line for her first time ever.

All on-campus courses have been cancelled at the University and every thing on-line.

So today at 3:30 PM was the time for her first interaction with students on Zoom.

At about 3:15 PM I peeked into her office and said . . . have you looked at yourself in the mirror?

She said:  Oh mine Gott !

Had to quickly fix her hair at least, and change into a decent looking blouse.

Hate to be a complainer, but . . .

No I am not OK, despite my plethora of postings and jokes.
My humor will be the last to go, it seems.

Don't remember what I posted before, but docs botched me up twice.

I am still far below par and suffering from UTI.
Can't eat well and have all sorts of bathroom issues.

First course of Bactrim antibiotic did not cure the UTI as I tested at > 100,000 units of ecoli in urine.
Now am on Cipro.
Thanks for asking.
