Such WM aren't going to the FSU to look for women.  8)   How many "Western" Nemtsovs do you believe are looking for women in the FSU?  Think the equivalent of a US congressman or senator, or a Canadian or Brit MP.

I was talking about honorable WM, not politicians like Bill Clinton.

What is more interesting to me is that this article (for want of a better term) has all these photos of various women, with and without Boris beside them - and doesn't identify any of them!  Don't they know which wife, daughter or girlfriend is which?  Very sloppy "journalism."

Very sloppy, and in fact it is not even journalism. It is tabloid crap, and not even fit for a "hit piece" by Putin defenders in the media. In real journalism there is a general rule that we don't show gratuitous photos of family members/lovers, nor do we publish full front facials of children unless they are child celebrities or the focus of a legitimate story. With the children of politicians and public figures we try to use side angles, and attempt to make them part of a larger scene rather than shown prominently or in closeups.

Nemtsov fathered four children: The oldest is Zhanna Nemtsova from his legal wife Raisa. He and Raisa agreed to part years ago but never divorced. Raisa came briefly to his viewing at the Sakharov Centre, and then very briefly to his funeral/burial at the cemetery. She is Jewish and his adopted faith was Christian Orthodox, and for a host of reasons she would not have felt comfortable for the entire ceremony.

Daughter Zhanna is a TV commentator for RBK TV. She is the oldest, and born to Boris and Raisa.

His daughter Sophia Nemtsova was delivered by his civil wife, former Kremlin secretary Irina Korolev.

His youngest, son Anton and daughter Dina, were from his time with his civil wife Yekaterina Odintsova. They were present at the viewing and the funeral. Katerina is a famous Russian TV personality, and owner of a fashion PR agency. Although each of his "wives" seemed to get along (except for Raisa, however it was not uncommon for the other wives to meet for dinner and family events).

It was Katerina (wife in video above) who took much of the responsibility for the funeral and burial arrangements. For all his faults, at least he didn't believe in age discrimination.

Bill Clinton has a lot of unsavoury friends.  As do almost all American politicians.  Take fundraising out of the equation, and a lot of that would disappear.

One has to wonder how many more respected journalists and truly pro-Russian persons will have to die until the Russian people wake-up to the Orwellian World that Putin has created?  Tragic.

Agree totally!  It is the cause of most of the corruption in US politics.  Notice both parties fight campaign finance reform.  Since we do not have a mechanism for national referendums the electorate do not have the ability to change anything the politicians don't want to change.

In Europe it is called bribes, in America it is called campaign donations.    >:(

The days of mass producing easy to build equipment like the T-34 are gone. Tanks are now as high tech as anything else on the field and require precision machining as well as sophisticated communications, weapons and anti aircraft defense mechanisms to be able to even function in a combat/operational environment.

Military equipment is more high tech and takes longer to build. A tank may take 40 times longer to build but it's 40 times better than tanks that aren't high tech. Russia isn't the only one that will have a disadvantage producing high tech equipment. Everybody has that disadvantage. What Russia is doing that the West isn't doing is accelerating their weapon programs.

While I agree with you that the West has been dragging it's feet in regards to Ukraine, I don't know why BB keeps going on and on about what Putin is planning.  If he manages to accomplish some of it by 2020, by then the West will just be that far ahead of him again.

The West is cutting back on defense spending. Article below says America decreased its spending by 30% since 2011. Russia is increasing their spending by 30% this year alone. The closer we approach equality, the more likely Putin and other bad actors will pursue their goals and the deadlier wars will get for us. Add Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea rising defense spending's together, they approach ours. Their weapons lack quality but those countries produce weapons more cheaply and pay their soldiers less giving their money more bang for the buck.

Hitler became chancellor of Germany in 1933, years before WW2 started. Many here seem very worried what Russia is doing to Ukraine. We should worry more about what Putin is planning in the future. Russia invading Ukraine doesn't affect America as much as the next country they invade will.

As America cuts defense spending, the world becomes a more violent place.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Okay, who did not expect or see this one coming?

Two men have been detained in connection with the murder of Boris Nemtsov. Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia's Federal Security Service, released their names to the press.

I know I am shocked to the point of speechlessness at the fact the suspects are from the North Caucasus.  Who could have seen that coming?

(The Mendeleyev Journal)

After arrests in the murder case of Boris Nemtsov, prosecutors must now convince the Russian public that two Muslin men from the North Caucasus, Anzor Gubashev and Zaur Dadayev, found it necessary to gun down an opposition leader to president Vladimir Putin.

Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin suggested that the murder may have been a provocation to destabilize the government of Vladimir Putin. Others close to the Kremlin speculate that Nemtsov angered Islamist s by his condemnation of the recent Charlie Hebdo murders in Paris.

Not that we did not see it coming. It seems that the "usual suspects" of such shadowy crimes in Russia, invariably end up with arrests from this volatile region of southern Russia.
Oddly, although previous government sources indicated that some of the surveillance cameras had been turned off for "repairs" the night of the murder, while other nearby cameras had been "redirected" towards the Kremlin area, now investigators say that "clear images" from those previously non-working cameras helped positively identify the two men as the shooters. Cell phone billing records were also identified as part of the investigation.

Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia’s federal security service, told news sources that Vladimir Putin had been informed of the arrests. Nemtsov was deputy prime minister during the 1990s government of Boris Yeltsin. He was shot four times while walking over a bridge near the Kremlin the night of 27 February.

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny, just released from jail on Friday, accuses government figures of ordering a hit on Nemtsov. The two men were friends, and Nemtsov's business partner was Navalny's campaign finance manager in the most recent Moscow mayoral election.

Call it the case of the miraculous clear images from nonworking surveillance cameras.

I am also highly skeptical of the "mobile phone billing" records angle on the story. Given the nature of how Russian cell phone service is often purchased, as opposed to annual contracts with monthly billing in many parts of the West, why would professional hit men (and all signs point to a pro hit), be so careless with a mobile phone?

We've also gone from what appeared to be a professional hit, to now making the case against a couple of men from one of Russia's poorer regions. Interesting, but not at all surprising.

As far as mobile phone records you seem unaware of how they can actually show a lot more.
Your GSM has a device serial number the IMEI. As long as it is switched on, the antenna seeks contact with the GSM broadcast points. This means that if it is switched on it will always be located, even if there is no SIM card active or if you have changed your SIM card.
Through triangulation between GSM broadcast points (in general you get signal from more than one) your location can be pinpointed pretty accurately.
Some people say that this even works when you switch off the GSM, as long as the battery is not empty.
In general, if you want to be sure not to be linked, leave your GSM at home.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Not at all. What you mentioned is kids stuff.

What I referenced was buying a phone in which no one needs to know who "you" are. If you were a guy from the Caucasus and in Moscow to do a murder, would you be carrying/using a mobile phone that could trace your movements as you pointed out?
