russian cupid credit cardscam

I tried to join Russian cupid 2 weeks via my credit card.  the card was accepted, but then, when I tried to email a woman, a notice appeared that I must 1. scan a copy of my credit card and send it to Russian cupid, and 2. scan a copy of my driver license or passport and send it to Russian cupid.  if I decided not to scan those 2 items, my membership would be terminated immediately and the full amount of the membership would be returned to my credit card within 48 hours.    the money was not refunded, so I canceled the credit card and was issued a new one.
  i tried again with my other credit card and the same scenario occurred.  both of my credit cards had sufficient money to cover the cost of the membership.  this time, as with the last, the money has not been refunded to my credit card.    is russian cupid a scam?  do other people have to go through such a ridiculous verification process?  Elena's models never required this type of background check on a buyer

Sure we can. But why pray tell would you do that twice? No, if they charged your card they didn't need any other verification or information. They received payment and service technically should commence.

I've seen them as an advertiser on this site. Is that why you would ask that question?
