No, it wasn't to me ;). Seems it was due to my using the https rather than htpp prefix in the URL ::).

BTW, your remark was not MOONenLIGHTening :( :D.

As befits a ghost, I was being transparent, hence useful - you fixed the problem quickly and easily   :D

I love this by ELO:

Thank you, a beautiful choral.

Another great voice lost :(: German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (28 May 1925 – 18 May 2012) passed away yesterday, 10 days short of his 87th birthday.
Quote
Recording an astonishing array of repertoire (spanning centuries) as musicologist Alan Blyth asserted, "No singer in our time, or probably any other has managed the range and versatility of repertory achieved by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Opera, Lieder and oratorio in German, Italian or English came alike to him, yet he brought to each a precision and individuality that bespoke his perceptive insights into the idiom at hand." In addition, he recorded in French, Russian, Hebrew and Hungarian.

Will have to share Glenn Frey's I've Got Mine another time, seems videos of this song are pulled from You Tube--but hope you will enjoy Lives in the Balance from Jackson Browne

Donna Summer.  Then Robin Gibb.  Was he not the third of the Gibb brothers to die, survived only by Barry Gibb, the oldest?

Last month a musician from my wayward youth passed away.  No one here noticed.  Raised in a town in Arkansas with the unbelieveable name of Turkey Scratch, his name was Levon Helm.  His group, The Band, performed at Woodstock.

The Band was indeed unique and fused many American music genres, usually employing many different instruments.  Up on Cripple Creek and The Weight (voted 41st of Rolling Stone's 500 greatest songs ) were their higher rated songs.

Helm's best, however, was another, the ballad The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.   Being a civil war buff and a Southerner, it hit home.   Levon Helm is described as "the only drummer who could make you cry."

Sandro

For you..... :)
Me too.  Sophia Loren is an Italian treasure and I imagine she commanded Sandro's attention in his youth.  Not exactly slender, but she was glamorous, sexy, everything.

I forgot that old song.  It was recently covered by an Australian group and became an international hit.

She definitely didn't go unnoticed in the 1950s ;), her brunette rival was Gina Lollobrigida, also well-endowed as was popular at the time.

I don't know why they mangled that song, here's the original version:

Tu Vuò Fa' L'Americano means: you're trying to act American. Renato Carosone was a pianist/band leader who wrote several very popular  'New Neapolitan' songs such as O Sarracino (The Saracen), Torero, Caravan Petrol, etc.:

Her last movie appearance was in the 2004 comedy Peperoni ripieni e pesci in faccia (US title: Too Much Romance...It's Time for Stuffed Peppers) with F. Murray Abraham, directed by Lina Wertmüller.

More widely known was her previous appearance in 1995:

Anyway, the reason I've been telling my wife it is time to move from NY and closer to the ocean is tied to this video. For those of you who have sailed (I started when I was 13) you will identify with these lyrics.
