Hello from Evia
« on: April 04, 2013, 07:17:39 AM »
Hello all...

My husband, Goombah here, suggested I post a bit about myself as an introduction.  Normally I like to read the forum for a while before I do anything, but he tells me an introduction immediately is appropriate, so...

My name is Evgenia, my husband nicknamed me Evia eight years ago, having had a hard time pronouncing my name as 4 syllables...  I am happy with it, and it appears most Americans also struggle with a proper pronunciation, so Evia works!  :)

Kevin and I were introduced by a mutual friend on February 23rd, 2005.  We exchanged a LOT of e-mail (over 600) before he came and visited me in Omsk, Siberia, in April of 2005.   We started the paperwork for me and my daughter to join him in America before he left...  In December I packed our bags and we came to America!  Kevin and I were married on February 23rd, 2006.   Lots of details skipped, but that is the short form of how I got here.

I have had two more children with Kevin:  Our daughter, Alexandra Gabriel, known as "Gabby" since before she was born and to this day, and our son, Franscious Harry, known as "Frank".

We live near St. Louis, Missouri and have a farm 300 kilometers away that we visit frequently.   With luck, I hope to be able to spend a good part of the summer there - it is quite lovely, and quiet, and I look forward to having a successful kitchen garden there this year.

I do have one procedural question:  How do I mark this as a commercial account?  I have a website where I offer assistance, but understand it is inappropriate to advertise that here.  Independent of that effort, I looking forward to participating in this forum!

Evia

Hello Evia and welcome to the forum!

Judging by your first post I think you will fit in well here and be liked by all.  :)

I have one question about the above quote.
How did you manage to come to America with your daughter before you married Kevin? Did you fill out a special form or use a specific procedure?

Welcome to the forum Evia,

I wish you success in your business and I will share some advice.

1) Give your opinions, advice and share your experiences here. People will respect you for helping the community.

2) You can disagree with people but do not fight! It's bad for business and reflects poorly on a lady when she does such. Remember, men are supposed to be the animals but we do defend ladies from senseless attacks so you don't have to.

3) In business you will deal with people who have the opposite views of politics, religion, and life that you do. That should not affect how you do business with a customer. Do not show bias. Give a customer you don't admire the same customer service you give to a customer you do admire.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Welcome, Evia!

In 2001 my future wife and I met another Russian-American couple at a picnic in the woods of Mari-El Republic. We have remained close friends since that time, although we only get together in Russia on visits. Coincidentally, Rob and Natasha live in your town.

I look forward to seeing you & Kevin more often here.

:welcome:  Evia!  This is a small world - Mrs I/O is also from Omsk.  One of these days I will get to Siberia, but so far the furthest east I have managed is Izhevsk.
