Ukrainian cities - for "vibe," charm, and living standards
« on: February 21, 2012, 09:25:43 AM »
Forget capital cities.  Odessa's reputation precedes it.   I appreciate luxury, but greatly prefer the real and authentic.   Given time, I bet you a dollar I could meet a fine woman almost anywhere.  But, the city is important to me.  I am not going to meet, greet, and import.

So, for all you guys that have traveled in the hinterland, what are some of the cities I ought consider most strongly?   I hear good things about  Dniper, Kherson.   I hear bad things about Maripol and Zap for example.   Again, I am looking for a target rich environment (universities).  I am looking for a place with a little charm and a modern vibe available, if I am in the mood ...

I would recommend you try Lviv in Western Ukraine. One of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine and not so "over fished" as others Eastern cities. The women there are just as beautiful but maybe not as numerous but that also means a lot less scammers and pro-daters as well.

I have heard great things about Lviv.

I do not know Russian (obviously); but, I really have gotten good at travelling and meeting people, and not screwing over women for the sake of sport.  So, I hope I come off as a "normal" guy?   Lviv ought be on my list.

Thanks for your response and email.  You are golden, mi amor:)

Kiev, Kiev Kiev.  So much happening there, plus an expat population when you need to hear some English, discuss sports, and compare notes.
Dnepropetrovsk has a nice feeling about it.    I was dining at an upper end restaurant near the top of the hill,  and three Bentleys were parked outside.  Kharkov is good with its universities  and not far from Dnepropetrovsk.  When you say "universities," you are not thinking students I hope.
Crimea is interesting if you like nature and history.  Lviv is near the Carpathian Mountains.
Some RWD men  from years ago liked Sevastopol and Poltava.

Find the woman first, yet these cities represent good places to start. What is your plan for "looking?"

Mila, I'll second that.  ;)

Do I know what I am looking for exactly?   Of course not!  I am a man  LOL

Finding someone is easy ... finding the right one seems difficult.   But, timing is everything, so I might get lucky

While I am certainly not interested in only fun and games, I am not going to take this too seriously either.   I will meet some women over the next 2 months online (and I know this can be a gigantic waste of time)     I will also tag along with Jack for a couple weeks to see what's what.    If I meet a woman, or a friend of a friend that strikes my deep interest I will stay for a while.   I don't know shit about this part of the world, and less about the language.   I enjoy being confused and keeping the company of thin, elegant women, so I ought to be content while I search for something special.

Who knows maybe lightening will strike?

Again, I am looking for a target rich environment (universities).

If you don't mind, please answer a couple of questions:

- How old are you?

- Please explain what you mean by a "target rich" environment?

ok Joe Black :)

Riv,  I think you could enjoy just about anywhere with the right frame of mind..
you've always seemed to have that ,so I just  wouldn't sweat it too much.

Kiev for big city style excitment,
Crimea/yalta and smaller towns there  for  nature..
There is plenty to do and see in both places,, but a very different flavor.
Yalta is pretty touristy but a great time.. lots to see and do.
(likely a place to take someone interesting, rather than look for her there,
but lots of single RW there as well)

Other cities have thier own unique vibe..
The ones mentioned like Kharkov ,Dnepropretrovsk, etc, are cool.
I havnt been anyplace that I dih't find interesting thindgs to do and people to meet.

The glass is always full, of air ,or water,
and what difference really? since you need both to survive.
:)
