Does anyone know about Zaporizhia International Airport?

So this girl I'm communicating with reckons I can go to Zaporizhia International Airport. I told her that as far as I'm aware only Kiev and Odessa I can get to by air. This one although it says its international I get the impression is more for locals. Does anyone know where I might be able to find flights to it? If I can get flights to it. My thoughts so far that its quite near the area of dispute so flights flying in and out might well be restricted in case of long range missile strikes. Any thoughts?

Trench, you should do some research. There are other cities in Ukraine that have airports, yes, I know this shocks you but why would you want to fly into Zap??? I think you can get there through Kiev or Istanbul.... possibly one flight per day for each way. If possible, better to fly into Dnipropetrovsk airport( yes another shock for you) if you insist on flying, and you are 1-2 hours from Zap.

They have an airport (I looked on Google) but I think Dnepropetrovsk is busier.
You might try flying to there and taking a bus to Zap.

Yes, there is an airport. I had been there from Kiev. It is pure crap. It is 4th world or may be even 5th. 1 hour from Kiev. Late evening to OZH and very early morning from OZH. You can also fly between OZH and Minsk.

It is dingy, dark and full of Ukranians who act like no other passenger exists and cut lines with their plastic wrapped suitcases.

tfcrew showed there's an airport there. You can use LAman's site or Ukrainian International airlines site to buy the tickets from Kiev to Zap.

If the lady isn't scared about you flying into Zap, you shouldn't be. You have an opportunity to meet her in her hometown and maybe meet her family and friends. Go for it.

Safety was not an issue for me there. It is far enough from Donetsk that I didn't worry about long range missile strikes. (are we talking ICBMs here..... ) I even took taxi to Dinipro from there and back. Not a bad road at all. Don't know about conditions of it when it snows.

You can fly direct via Kiev. Probably smarter to go thru Dnipropetrovsk  where there are numerous flights per day  -- including international destinations.
Quite cheap flights out of UK to Istanbul and not huge on cost to DNK or ZAP.

It is about 80kms from Zap  and the road is good and well travelled .Buses are coaches .There is also a train.
When searching ZAP for air carriers-- you need to note some may only be every few days.

Cheers guys, much appreciate it. Didn't think about looking on Ukraine International Airlines, silly me. Just presumed it would just be Kiev & Odessa as many of the travel booking sites just seem to do those two. Yeah anyway, that will help widen my search a little without having to do a lot of extra travel from the airport which can be a pain. Girl I'm communication to on this one is really early days as I'm really just getting going communicating with these girls again.

Nice air hostesses? None better than those on Singapore Airlines. Very easy on the eyes.
