A lot of hapiness and two bad news
« on: September 30, 2008, 08:11:17 AM »
This is a very good week for us but at the same time, we get two bad news. Visa for Prague was delayed and not given in time for our honeymoon, so we will go to Lviv. Today we were applying for a temporary visa to Canada for my wife, the goal was for her to meet my children and to discover the place where she will live and it was denied.

Despite her son staying in Ukraine, her apartment, they judged that she will not come back to Ukraine...Where I am really upset this is because they did not even interview her.

We will process immediately with  permanent visa as soon as I am back in Canada.

I am really sorry to hear this. In this case, it is too bad that I was right: I suspected they would deny her a temporary resident visa precisely because you were married and once she was in the country she could stay until her permanent residence application was completed. The one good thing, however, is that it is a faster processing time outside of the country. With a bit of luck, it should only take six months or so.

The challenge now will be filling out the immigration paperwork. It is not too bad and you can do it on your own. However, the question is how long have your known your wife (congratulations by the way!) and how much time did you spend with her in total? You will have to write your "love story" for Citizenship and Immigration Canada detailing how you met and proving that you have a legitimate relationship.

I know her since one year now... we have many photos to document our relation. And as I have two citizenships, we have already completed the process with France. So I have all document from France, marriage contract, Family Book etc...France require to proceed before wedding.

Now I am looking if it is possible for my wife to live in France and to proceed trough Canadian embassy in France as this is faster than in Ukraine and will probably offer a better service.

My invitation letter was detailled and in french, I supplied all documentation, even more. I am almost sure that nobody has read it.

I am really upset about how our request was answered as we asked to be serviced in english and we get document answer in Ukrainian (my wife speaks english better than me...).Can this to be considered as a procedure mistake, not to reverse the result but at least to cancel this visa denial on her file ?
