Another Article on Russian Trolls
« on: May 30, 2016, 09:03:18 AM »
I found this article to be interesting as it focuses on the efforts of a known Russian Troll as well as the Troll attacks on Finland joining NATO.  For those of you who don't know, public opinion in Finland is split, but probably will do whatever Sweden decides to do.

Quite interesting to note, the article is from the NY Times, but actually I received it this morning, with my morning cup of joe at Starbucks on their nationwide USA Today type website.

People are beginning to wake up.  News from Russia, as well as comments are not to be trusted.

Article on production targets for the Russian Troll Factory
« Reply #1 on: June 07, 2016, 04:18:54 PM »
We've read about the Russian Troll Factory, which employs Russians to cover the web with pro-russian comments. Leaked documents recite how much material they are expected to post every day:

post on news articles 50 times

maintain six Facebook accounts publishing at least three posts a day and discussing the news in groups at least twice a day

On Twitter, the bloggers are expected to manage 10 accounts with up to 2,000 followers and tweet 50 times a day

I found this comment funny:

Quote
“What, you think crazy Russians all learned English en masse and went off to comment on articles?” said Leonid Bershidsky, a media executive and Bloomberg View columnist. “If it looks like Kremlin shit, smells like Kremlin shit, and tastes like Kremlin shit too — then it’s Kremlin shit.”
