But the fact remains that there are some people who do not enjoy humor.  

However, these humorless people still insist on writing in their profiles that they are looking for a mate who has a sense of humor.  That is the basis of my question.

I don't know if it's even possible to answer your question seriously.    People without a sense of humor insisting that they have one is the most regular thing.  People WITH a sense of humor who SERIOUSLY write in their profiles "I'm looking for someone with a sense of humor" - now that's a strange thing!  I'd sooner expect them to write something like "I'm looking for someone who can faithfully eat his hat on a silly bet; bets and hats provided in advance", or something like that.  Whether or not someone has a SOH is usually pretty easy to detect from the way they write their profile.  So don't complain if you persist in contacting women with boring profiles!  :evil:

Strange subject this "humor" thing.  Certainly there are all types, luckily for me, because sometimes my humor is absolutely silly and ridiculous (The Maiden was almost rolling on the floor laughing when I used tooth picks as vampire fangs, and hissed at the waitress, then she began shooting spit wads at people walking by, sticking them on their pants legs).. and of course, sarcasm is an art - to be humorous without being cruel.  Something that I have found that all the RW I've met absolutely love is when I do an exaggerated mimic of people around us.. people looking serious.. make up a story about them and kinda act it out...

So, I dunno, must be the company you keep, Mars, because the only one with whom I had any trouble with humor was the one time I dated the girl who could not speak/understand English.. of course no chance of sarcastic humor, but even she loved the mimic thing. 

Certainly not all RW would like my humor. Different strokes, but you can definitely find a woman who is as big of a kid as your are, is as sarcastic as you are, whatever.

A  lady friend of mine once explained to me that  what is meant by "humor "  is the ability to  think positive , have fun and enjoy life , see the positive side of things .
When a man feels good , she will connect with  his  positive  energy .
