Life in Russia BEFORE the Football World Cup 2018
« on: June 09, 2018, 07:21:38 AM »
Following the 'registration' fiasco of last years Confederation Cup ( dry run with less teams ) it seems the Kremlin has learnt NOTHING

Sure, those normally requiring Visas can use their ticket and FIFA ID as the 'visa' - but if you stay with friends one needs to be registered - if staying in a footie host town for more than 3 days

Normally, that's just a trip to the post office - but during two weeks either side of the tournament - it's a trip to the Federal Migration Service facility in the district you are staying at.  Good luck with THAT..
Even RUSSIAN CITIZENS must register ..

Today, a friend of t'oher half was at work - when the place was raided and all the employees that had no id / proof of registration were arrested.

Last week, someone else we know got fined for not having a waste-paper basket outside their kiosk ( small shop) even though there'd been an order to remove them for security reasons - the rule was reversed and - guess what?  ... No one knew about it ..... well apart from the Kiosks that mysteriously failed to open that day - so the inspector - couldn't levy a fine!

I assume that is to ease monitoring for terrorism.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

If you're going to the World Cup in Russia because you think you might get lucky with some Russian hottie, think again. According to Tamara Pletnyova, head of parliament’s committee for families, women and children Russian women should avoid sex with foreign men during the soccer World Cup because they could become single mothers. If RW do have sex with foreign men at least have sex with foreign men of the same race as themselves.

No sexism or racism in Russia is there? These types of comments by Russian politicians at all levels of government are common. These types of comments are also typical of older Russians. Tamara Pletnyova is 70.

What better way to bury the news that ladies must wait 8 years longer and men 5 years AND a 25 VAT ( sales tax ) hike after beating 'mighty' S.Arabia 5-0 ?

People partying in Piter and Sochi, that I know, didn't know ....
