September Silicon Valley Get-Together

Okay, guys, we're coming up to September after this month, and it's time to make plans for our next get-together.

   I've already had one request for either Sunday the 23rd, or the 30th.

   Brunch again at The Cheesecake Factory at the Westfield/Valley Fair Mall in
San Jose/Santa Clara, unless any of you have suggestions for a different location.

   I'll be checking in with Dan to get his okay, and I'll be e-mailing those of you for whom I have e-mail addresses.

   Look forward to seeing you all next month.

   Which Sunday?  The Niners are playing Pittsburgh on TV at 10:00 AM on the 23rd, and they're hosting Seattle at 1:00 PM on the 30th.  We'll probably meet at 11:00 AM for brunch, before the lunchtime Sunday shoppers swarm into the place.

   So far, I've had several votes for the 23rd, but I'm not going to decide for another few days, to allow other interested parties to chime in on their preference.

   Please let me know what you'd like.

I am indifferent as to which week, If I were you I would just pick one based on
the authority that you thought of it so....... you picked it.

Of course being a Cowboys fan I am definitely not a Niners fan, although
I think the Niners will do better this year, I always cheer for whoever is playing
against them. If I were to pick it based on football, I would pick the 30th since
I could TIVO the game and buzz through the commercials.

   One of our couples is driving down from San Fran, and traffic would be better for them on the 23rd.  That, plus a couple of PM's favoring the 23rd, and I think we'll go for September 23rd, which is 5 weeks from today.

   So, mark your calendars accordingly, and we'll see you all on the 23rd.

   Again, please PM me if you're coming, so I can tell the wait staff at The Cheesecake Factory approximately how many we'll have in attendance.  Start time will still be 11:00 AM.

   By the way, 2tall, your Cowboys will be playing da' Bears that day for the Sunday night game, so you won't miss a single down (or beer commercial) that evening.

Change of Location and Time


Guys,

   Date is the same: Sunday, September 23rd.

   Time has been moved back to 1:00 PM

   New location: Tanglewood

                                                                                at Santana Row, right across Stevens Creek Blvd. from The Cheesecake Factory and the Valley Fair Mall.

   There is a menu and map on their website.

   We may have access to their private room, depending on the RSVP's I get from now until September 15th.

   Okay, we're pretty much set for our 8th get-together, this coming Sunday.

   As of now, we have 13 confirmed, including 5 couples, plus a kid or two.

   Anyone else looking to come, please call my voicemail at (408) 802-4190.  We may not have table space close by for anybody else; it depends of where they place us.

   And, don't forget to bring your digi cameras, so we can post some shots here after the weekend.

   Today, I received an e-mail from Gorden Jennings (Typhoon, from the old RWG days) and his bride Svetlana (from Omsk), and they will be driving over the hill from Santa Cruz to join us tomorrow.

   So, that puts us at 15 confirmed.  With a couple more, we'll break our old attendance record of 16.  We'll see.
