This is the guy who sentenced the rape suspect by vote and told women that they shouldn't drink at bars.  He was very popular which is probably why he died.

Well, he was a ruthless killer, but no one should celebrate death.
 
Interestingly, he had vowed to continue the war.  I wonder if Akhmetov is behind his assassination.  Either that, or it was an internal fight over the spoils of war.
