Need Input - Custom Profile Fields

We now have the option of collecting and displaying Custom Profile fields. In the past, such things as:

Birth Citizenship of Wife/Husband:
Style of Search (WOVO, WMVM, Acquaintance Intro - etc):
Number of years age difference:

And there are certainly many others were of interest.

What information would you like to see us gather - and are willing to contribute yourself? Please do NOT suggest we gather anything that you are not prepared to contribute yourself.

Please reply with your suggestions to this post. I will collect comments for a week or so, and then will submit a list for review.

Obviously, just because we have a field on the list there is no mandate which obligates people to complete it - but it seems a good way to allow us to get to know one another better.

 The one thing that I like (and most people didn't use on the old board) is the location part. For me, it is of great value to know if people are in your area or in an area that you want to visit. Can we "force" them to use this... (joking).

 The part of where the people are from is interesting to me. Maybe if they have kids (and ages) or not would be good for those who want to exchange information or compare how they are handling the changes.

This is a feature which is a little more involved - and it tracks the IP address of the member and 'pins' that location to a map. In other words, it does not depend on the member putting any identifying information about their location. I need to experiment with it, as I don't want it to automatically divulge information not approved by the members.

Check it out - the link is right next to your "Profile" button at the top of the page.

Pretty cool feature.

Oh - the same feature is responsible for the flag you see over near my name (on the left). The system identifies which country you are posting from by reading your IP address and posting the appropriate flag as part of your ID.

Also get the error message on the MemberMap. Using IE 6. Will check with Firefox from home this evening.

Looking into the Member Map problem.

Oddly, I am seeing it just fine - on several different PC's - so I suspect it is a Permission problem of some sort.

For those interested, please try the Member Map again. As suspected, there was a simple permissions problem - and it should not be resolved.
