Some RW would date a black man.  My guess is about 10-20%.  Some black men are handsome, and that would help immensely. 

However, do not expect that you can walk around the FSU and chat up women on the street.  Language could be a real problem, especially if you talk the way you write.

We're talking about a part of the world where education is a matter of pride and accomplishment. Totally opposite from parts of the USA, for example. Speaking a foreign language is a badge of honour so you can imagine how they view a person from an English speaking country who can't properly manage their own native tongue.

Those who speak English usually do so from learning Continental (UK-European) English and expect your grammar to be spotless and if not, they suspect you to be less than intelligent, uncultured, and not worth wasting the time.

On individual basis probably race is not that problematic if you are well groomed, educated and with some financial muscle. I have seen many RW happily dating non-white guys (including some of my friends) But all of them (the guys) were well above average in many aspects. So yes,  I think we always have to try harder. From other perspective, I have came to the conclusion that very best motivator for self-improvement is the vision of yourself dating a hot good looking RW  . A good side effect of dating (or aspiring) RW is that I became more conscious about my look and consequently more successful with women of ALL races

No,  her response does NOT prove your innuendo. Generalizing my own attitude and those attitudes that i observed among my Russian-speaking acquaintances toward black people, I would summarize it as the folowing sequence- curiosity -caution- compassion. 


Most feel curiosity to black people since they are rare in Russia and viewed as a novelty. Those who were exposed to the unrefined black people culture without understanding the underlying factors feel caution. And those who happened to learn how the damage of stereotyping and  discrimination can pass from generation to generation and irreparable cripple children when they are  at suggestible age feel compassion.


To the OP, I would consider dating a black man provided he is university educated, and would consider marring him if he met my major requirements to be viewed as marriage material.  I am also confident that my family would love my kids every bit as much as they would love them had i had them from a man from my own race.

When speaking to RW about race in a relationship, I was surprised that around 50% of the ones I talked to were open to a black man.  That is of course as vwrw stated, they met other more important criteria. The most important factor to them; how they treated them. My particular sampling was about 30-40 RW.
 
I was also somewhat surprised by the negative comments made by some. For example, I once recommended a movie to a couple of RW, but they flat out refused to see it once I told them it starred Denzel Washington (they told me they just don't watch movies with black actors, sorry  ). I mean you don't have to date one, but to not watch a movie with one of the best actors of his time just because he's black? The movie was "Philadelphia" if anyone is interested in the movie I recommended.
 
Both of these women were highly educated and quite open to Hispanics, for instance, but viewed blacks as completely off limits.
 
I find the men to much more racist overall though.

As I said, when you meet a man, fall in love, etc it's one thing, when you  start looking at profiles of black men intentionally it's another. I can say I'd be able to fall in love with anybody but if I were looking for intentionally I'd avoid extra exotic things. Besides, more differences=higher risk of future problems.

Denzel Washington is one of my favourite actors

I loved his quote in a film called "Cry Freedom" when he played as Steve Biko.

A racist judge told him "Why do you call yourself black when you are brown?"

His reply to the judge  "Why do you call yourself white when you are pink?"
