is it a statement act.  Salisbury where the British army develops chemical weapons.  Novichok is held by many countries USA UK Russia and many more.  Was it USA agents trying to jeopardise Anglo Russian relations.  Rarely in world politics are things as they seem.

So the UK media completely under reported the contamination.  Completely under reported Tommy Robertson.  And yet you trust the British media to reveal the identities of the agents who deployed the chemicals.  Moby you're ex media and you trust the media.  Next you will tell me the British government didn't use Chernobyl to cover up for leaks at selafield power station.  Radioactive Welsh and Lakeland lamb due to Chernobyl ????

Me... ex-media ?  Who fed you THAT bollox ?

If THAT is the standard of your 'fact checking' - and we judge the rest of you post in the same light - what conclusion should we draw ? ;)

1/ Salisbury wasn't 'under reported' - I think I started the thread on it from a UK news source ...

2/ What's 'important' about Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon?

3/ Chernobyl was a completely different story and it was Windscale ( Sellafield )  in those days ... hardly 'covered up ' ( example  - given the notoriety the Rep of Ireland, Isle of Man and Norwegian govts. sought and got )

Sheep have been monitored all over the UK and Ireland LONG before Chernobyl and if there'd been a 'cover up' there'd have been plenty of evidence from non UK media

Putin depends on enough people out there to believe in conspiracy theories and defend him.

If America did it, what would be the results? The results are what we have now, souring relations between UK and Russia which already were sour since Russia took Crimea. Is that the reward for America? What are the risks if America did it and was caught? Souring relations between UK and America would severely hurt our economic and military relationships and weaken us both. America is also held to higher standards on the world stage than Russia is. America's relations would sour with all other allies too. Risk outweighs the rewards.

The investigation on who did it was completed and UK allies seen the evidence and reviewed the process of the investigation to make sure it's solid. It all points to Russia. Both American Democrats and Republicans who have security clearances seen the evidence. I'm sure that goes for politicians in France, Germany, and bureaucrats at the UN. Nobody is shouting the investigation and evidence is a setup.

Moby simple reply they have only just opened boots the contaminated chemist in Sainsbury.  I thought you were in media on Cyprus or I mis understood.  Many countries have novichock including Porter Down about 5 miles from Sainsbury.  Massive marches in support of Tommie Robertson 20.000 reported as 1000.  Trumps supporters digitally enhanced.  You trust mainstream media .  Only dinosaurs trust the media

If USA agents aka the CIA did ten percent of what conspiracy theorists said they did the CIA would have to be ten times as large as it is. Let's face it Putin ordered it and Russian agents were very sloppy and got caught in the act.

Jamesukjames are you one of those guys who are saying that it wasn't Putin who ordered covert units of the Russian military to take control of eastern Ukraine?

From what I've read on RUA that's the place for all the conspiracy theorists to hang out.

I'm sure a thief once told cops that although he's got fingerprints, other people have fingerprints too and somebody else did the crime. That doesn't work because no two are alike. For hundreds of years, no company has replicated the drink Coca Cola. They can analyze what's in it but without the exact recipe and process for creating the drink, they can come close to making it but it'll never taste the same. Same goes with novichock. We know the Russian strain of novichok due to a Russian scientist sneaking it out and giving it to us in the past. Duplicating the exact strain without the recipe and process for creating it is highly unlikely. 4 labs around the world analyzed the novichock used in the crime and decided it was Russian.

If the goal is to start a war between UK and Russia, then somebody important to the UK people should've been targeted such as May or the Queen of England.

The UK government tried to blame farmers for an out break of foot and mouth until it was traced back to weapons grade virus from a government lab.  So novichock used on the doorstep of porton down highlights many countries store novichok against the Geneva convention.  So Moby you started this debate.

Governments have a tendency to cover up their mistakes. I can see the UK government trying to protect itself against an embarrassing incident. I also can see Putin protecting himself from an embarrassing incident with preventive measures. Putin is trying to modernize his military on has geopolitical goals. He doesn't want secrets leaked out. He needs to make an example for anybody thinking about selling secrets by killing an ex spy and his family. Remember, the ex's spy's son died a year before the attempted assassination on him and his daughter.

And his wife died mysteriously.  Why not a bullet from a silenced pistol so much easier than chemical weapons.  So there's a message in this.

A gun can be used by a common criminal. A common criminal can't make a statement. Russian assassinations through chemical weapons or radioactive material have been happening for some time now. Only a few players have the option for using those materials and those players are in high positions. Anybody working for Russia in possession of secrets need to know they will have people in high positions calling for their execution should they step out of line. Russia has been assassinating traitors for decades. What is going on now is not a surprise. UK gives ex Russians protection often. It's not the first time Russia brought in chemicals/radioactive material for assassination purposes in the UK anyway.
