Another sort of bordello style apartment

So this evening while I was sitting here on my last night in Chernivtsi I decided to take some photos of the apartment I am renting for $60 per night. The decorating style of the apartment is slightly less bordello style than the place I rented in Zap on my last visit to Ukraine but it still has some bordello influences. The walls on this place seem to be very thick. I don't have an actual ruler or tape measure but to me they look to be over 12" thick, even on the interior walls. The bathroom and bedroom are decorated with either paintings or pictures of naked women. The painting in the bedroom is very nice and if it was on a canvas I wouldn't mind buying it to take home with me.

You probably paid double what it is worth. Smaller cities can be very inexpensive. Did you find it or your 'friend'?

Triple.  That is the great thing about the forum.  You can have an armchair quarterback tell you how to do it better next time.  LAMan is correct.  It should have been much cheaper.

Soviet built. A couple of guesses why the walls are so thick. Not enough rebar, low grade cement and engineers afraid to get executed if their building fails. If the apartment has a landline, get any calls asking if you need a woman? Seems to me all those pictures of women in the nude are to get male renters in the mood.

That's definitely different Healey, thanks for the pics helps show what it's like. Not bad on appearance if you like Bordello style, not sure if the girl would appreciate or not. Once stayed in a B&B above a pub overnight in the UK, room was all red and had a slight whore house vibe to it, no naked pics though.

Think you paid over the odds for it, for double the money you would have got a a whole week for in a decent hotel. I think  some locals try it on if they see you're a foreigner. Even on my second trip to Ukraine I had to remind myself how much our currency is really worth out there - a few £ or $ is a lot of money to them and goes far.

On one visit to Kharkiv, a local helper gal arranged an apartment for me for a month long stay.

In the last week, the owner and the helper lady both came to have a look-see and coordinate the next arrival etc.

The owner woman became very agitated with a lot of loud talking, etc.

After owner left, helper lady told me the owner was upset that she did not know the rental was going to an American, in which case she would have wanted a lot more money.  She wanted this helper lady to give back some of her commission.

Same thing happened to us in Odessa when my wife arranged the apartment on her end. Owner was not happy with the quoted rate when she saw I was American.

I didn't pay much attention to what was paid for the apartment when this thread came out but adding it up with other threads, it seems JensenHealey907's woman had him paying double + for everything on his visit.
