Articles about foreign marriage good and bad

There is a general media formula about those who seek a foreign bride. Most stories
are negative and follow the formula however occasionally there is a positive article.
Please post article here both positive and negative that you find.

I thought I would start a thread about it and if anyone runs across an article or video
then they could post it here.

Basically the media formula is that the men are
1. Losers, who couldn't get a date with a twenty dollar hooker with a 100 dollar bill taped
to their forehead.
2. Control freaks
3. Men who seek a subservient woman (FSUW are subservient? Bill snorts and chortles)
4. Seeking June Cleaver
5. Will slap a girl around or even kill her

The women
1. Desperate and fearful
2. Naive and gullible
3. Gold diggers
4. Will leave the first day they can
5. Former prostitutes (or something bad)
6. They will become materialistic, grasping, cynical social-climber


NOTE: If you find an article or story or video that doesn't follow the formula by all
means post it. I've found some by the way and will post them.


What this thread isn't fight about feminism or politics
We have plenty of threads about that so please keep those arguments in those threads

Do foreign men deserve Russian women?

In search of a better life Russian women go abroad, hoping for happiness with a foreign prince. However, such stories rarely have a happy ending. Chief Editor of Pravda.Ru Inna Novikova talked to a psychiatrist, associate professor of the Institute of Psychoanalysis, Vladimir Faynzilberg, to find out why Russian ladies are attracted to foreign countries and foreign suitors, and why mixed marriages are rarely happy.

"I hear many stories of Russian women who are married to foreigners from different countries. It is my understanding that the issue is probably not that marriage is mixed, but the fact that people do not know how to build relationships. Does the problem of inter-ethnic marriages exist?"

"Marriages with foreigners are usually unhappy. Over 16 years of life in the West working as a psychotherapist, I tried to help a vast number of people. Therefore, I have plenty of observations.

They were mostly mixed marriages, though not always one of the spouses was Russian. Women came to see me more frequently than men. These women were often in a dead-end situation, and often they needed the help not only of a therapist but also a lawyer. The strangest and scariest thing, in my opinion, is that the number of women wishing to marry a foreigner is only growing.

I have many friends who successfully maintain websites where they advertise dating with foreigners in order to create a family. These people earn very good money on the desire of women to get married and leave the country."

The men who go to Ukraine looking for a wife then fly home alone and broke

These are trying times for Odessa. After the annexation of Crimea, pro-Russian forces

But for all the political and economic chaos that has engulfed Ukraine in the past three
months, one industry is still thriving: the internet romance trade.

The economies of several Ukrainian cities are boosted by the surreal and disingenuous online bride business, and Odessa is the biggest hub. It does not take long for a visitor to the city to stumble upon an "international date" – there are legions of western men in town meeting with young women they have met online, usually with the conversation facilitated by a translator. At internet cafes and homes across the city, thousands of women spend hours each day chatting to prospective suitors online.
