Hi All,
Anyone used matchmaking service ( as in just a contact and addition to current girls you would have lined up before going?)
I like Mila (dont want to hear negative comments about her) but havent been able to contact her for a few days.
Has anyone tried others in a small way?
I dont like the idea on relying on someone to do all the work for you in finding a woman . FSU like strong guys :)
Some services they offer are translating, help with someplace to stay and giving you access to some more women.
Thanks
Andrew

Can you do it yourself or do you need a translator? Always better to do it on your own.
-
If you don't speak much Russian I'd say it can be useful to have help - but you have to remember folks do this for money - but the better ones still do it
-
who are the ones recommend?
I dont want negative comments about who not to see but who to see.
I have been in contact with Mila but that has stopped?
-
I KNOW Ed, (Eduard - a Russian now living in Florida ) and have given him some jip regarding some of his previous claims that lasses vastly outnumbered guys - certainly not true as one drops down the age range
He is a successful music biz career, too

I like Mila (don't want to hear negative comments about her) . . .
That's a pretty good strategy.

anyone seen Mila?
Any other contacts in Ukraine as unless you know the country a contact there to meet is something i prefer to get happening
-
who's Mila?

Search for "Mila" (Commercial member) in the Memberlist and send her a PM/email ;).

She also has a Facebook page under Mila Lobunko. Not sure if you have tried there.

oh she's a matchmaker.... it's for the OP. better off to just do it yourself
-
I like the idea of a matchmaker to help a bit like a contact for when you go. I have been to Russia before but I had a contact and couldn't imagine getting around myself in this place.

Many of my trips were for business, so business partners helped me get set up with airport transfer, hotels, info on nearby restaurants, food marts, internet, etc.
When I started going just for women, I used 'helpers' such as Mila (but not her) to do the above tasks . . . but never to do matchmaking.
Matchmaking is a simple 'do it yourself' project using the dating websites.
Then, once you are there and start the process of meeting gals, they can take over the role of helping with shopping, restaurants, theatres, getting you back to airport, etc.
Get a lazer pointer for when you are by yourself at McDonald's or an old fashioned grocery store, etc., and use it to just point to the items you want.

Come on--it is not that hard ! particularly at McDonalds where many of the younger staff will have at least a smattering of English and the duty manager will almost certainly speak some-- and often as close to fluent as you will find for people in Ukraine that have not been out of Ukraine.
Many of younger staff in cafe/restaurants also have enough very often.
Even when I have not uttered a word of English -- people still will speak to me in English !!
As for shopping -- go to the supermarket -- some now have near enough identical self pay checkout and paywave etc . Even checkout is easy --just remember if you want a bag to place one on the checkout as you pay for the plastic bag.
Using a credit /debit card for most payments makes it easier.
So there is day to day living part !
Now -- for all-- get a decent phone --these days quite cheap -I can make specific recommendations of great phones at $250ish.
Get a simcard -I recommend Lifecell and pre pay for calls and data -- that is UAH 69 a month ( less than $5)
That allows you to access internet ALL the time.
Get Google translate -- you can speak -it can do 2 way conversation. Learn how to use it without thinking and it solves most problems that come up.
My info is current to this very day -- and not from years ago.
Much has changed in Ukraine over the last 4 years and is doing so at an increasing pace --- it is not as different as it was a decade ago .
I am often in places where there is little to none English speakers and my Russian is confined to the very basic -- and I hardly ever have a problem ( touch wood) !!
Look at all this as fun to do--it is !

There also is Stirlitz who is based in Odessa.
He posts here from time to time.
-
I would note that BDHvA used Stirlitz, so if he's suggesting him, it must have been a positive experience.
-
Stirlitz used to work as a translator and guide helping men in this endeavor. Now killing is his business and he's hoping business will be good.

WHAT a crassly STUPID post...

WHAT a crassly STUPID post...
It is typical stupidity of silly Billy1 .
Frequently factually incorrect and incapable of adding 2 +2 to = anything sensible.
For the record --Stirlitz is back in civilian life now .
As for the sentiment intent of comment -my position does not need restating here.

You two must've never been in the military. You don't seem to understand how long the military owns you. He's still a trained soldier and when it's time push the Russians out of Ukraine, Stirliz will be happy to kill as much of them as he can.

To use some one as Stirlitz or Mila will assist those who sometimes have a hard time reading the local 'flora & fauna.'

I CHOSE a sales job over becoming an Officer trainee and sometimes wonder how different I / my life would be..I'm on an island were all men and ladies are trained soldiers and killing is not on most of their minds - as they travel over the 'border' to socialise at weekends in one of the world's longest frozen conflict regions.

Is their Island named "Ukraine" and are their uninvited Russian troops on it? I've read enough posts from Stirlitz to understand he'd kill every Russian that wasn't invited into his house.

No it's called Cyprus and it is separated on ethnic 'Christian / Muslim' grounds... They are trained to 'defend' from each other's attacks and when playing soldiers is over, many cross the UN designated Green line and socialise.
The situation, is VERY similar to Ukraine - just 50 years on
