10 commandments to fail by.
This should be about how to fail. Not about service or agencies. We might want to separate this in 3 different stages? I think the current 10 commandments on the board can be improved on.
Top 10 ways to fail before you go to Russia.

Top 10 ways to fail after she gets here.
Some of the ways to fail.
1 First Impressions photos that look like you don't believe in first impressions!!
2 I am not any body else I am better the any other man that's has promised you to come!
3 Testing a Russian Woman just to test her!!
4 Promising a Russian Woman something, and not delivering on your promises.
5 Demanding her to make time for you when you have never met her.
6 Thinking your saving some poor Russian woman's life.
7 Falling in Love with a photo or letter with no back up plan.
8 When there is 10.000 other Russian Woman trying to fix what's broken.
9 Not meeting her family Mothers and fathers can be your best allies or worst nightmare
10 unknown interrupter believing 100% she is on your side. Thinking she is your best friend when your only a client.

Marc....I admit I have a thing for one of the girls on your site. I noticed her a few years ago and bought her recent pictures. I promise if I ever go to meet her that I won't put all my eggs in one basket.[/size][/font]

Top 10 + 1 ways to fail before you go to Russia:
1. Never getting on the plane because of X, Y, Z reasons.
2. Falling in love with a photo (that may exist as woman, fat Yuri, a woman 5 years ago or before the truck hit her etc.)
3. Trusting everything you hear, especially from one of the big three agencies.
4. Writing girl(s) for too long a period of time prior to going over
5. Sending money after reading any sort of sob story
6. Not getting your passport in time for the flight.
7. Not reading everything you can on every legitimate website and asking as many questions pertinent to yourself from guys who have been there done that who are happy to help you out.
8. Not knowing yourself or what you want in a woman.
9. Not having the dollars and starting the process - then realizing you better pull out (still better than alot of the other alternatives) before you start.
10. Thinking you know everything before you start the flight over.
11. Not knowing what or when to ask for help
10 + 3 Ways to fail when you are in Russia:
1. Giving up on yourself when things go sour ie. WOVO does not show up etc., girls do not meet your standards etc. Remember, in Russia things can change in a hurry - especially for the short timer.
2. Unreal expectations once you start meeting girls
3. Not keeping your nose where it ought to be ie. police problems
4. Too much time in the bar / with the bottle than meeting girls
5. Dealing with a scam agency and then realizing (or not realizing it) it when you are back home.
6. Trusting an interpreter who is just playing you.................
7. Thinking "she is the one" on your first trip over.
8. Dressing like a fool
9. Throwing your money around, inappropriate presents etc.
10. Acting like everyone over in the FSU has no idea how to do anything right
11. Showing a lack of or no regard for their customs and culture
12. Never meeting her parents, family and friends
13. Failing to be the man (no milktoast wimps need proceed)
10 + 1 ways to fail when you get back from Russia but your girl is not here yet:
1. Not calling enough
2. Not remembering her birthday and holidays
3. Not writing enough
4. Communication errors (not necessarily language but could be cultural)
5. Failing to follow through on promises
6. Not giving yourself enough time to digest your initial trip before you start acting / planning your life.............................
7. Waiting too long to book another trip to visit your girl (I'd say if you hit things off you best return in about 3 months).
8. Planning your life together and telling her before she gets here - I suspect things may alter your plans if you "know" how things will be.
9. Not having much of a plan for how you want to proceed after meeting her ie. Not "keeping the end in mind" sort of thing.
10. Screwing up your visa paperwork prolonging your process if you are getting that far.
10 + ways to fail after you marry a woman from the FSU:
I have only been married to a Russian woman 5 months (she has been here about 8 months with me or so), so I'll leave that up to the marriage veterans, though I am fairly sure the same things you have to do to stay married to any woman holds true with Russian women.

Marc, you and Bruce really covered a lot of the bases. It will be real hard to come up with 10 things you guys have not already covered but I'll try to come up with a few.
Ways to fail before you even go to Russia or Ukraine.
(1) Being out of shape.
(2) If you have to have facial hair, make sure it is well trimmed.
(3) Being un-realistic with your expectations.
(4) Talking/writing about politics.
(5) Accidentally calling Svetlana Veronica (does not apply to wovo guys).
(6) Sending an unflattering photo.
(7) Believing everything your mom says about those Russian women.
(8) Mis-representing yourself.
(9) Writing too long before making the trip.
and number 10 (drum roll please) believing everything you see written on commercial, agency advertised, Russian discussion boards.
Ways to fail while you are in the FSU.
(1) Not have a good back-up plan.
(2) Not listening to what she is saying.
(3) Spending too much time with ladies whom their is no chemistry with.
(4) Running out of money one week into a three week trip.
(5) Not having an efficient support staff who can handle your every need or request.
(6) Not having planed the trip well.
(7) Getting caught looking at other ladies.
(8) Bringing your stubbornness with you.
(9) Thinking that 30 year age difference isn't so much after all.
and number 10 (drum roll please) while staying at the lady's and her mom's flat during the day when they are at work and using their phone to call Tatiana in St. Petersburg and telling Tatiana how much you miss her when the lady's mom, whose phone you are using, is one of three of Boris Yeltsin's doctors.
Ways to fail after she has arrived.
(1) Not spending enough time with her during that all important first 90 days and first year. No more 50 hour work weeks, no more two weeks every month on the road.
(2) Not listening to her.
(3) Being too stubborn or set in your ways. That has to end.
(4) Never forgetting her birthday.
(5) Never forgetting March 8th.
(6) Never forgetting your anniversary.
(7) Not having an efficient network set up in your area in hopes of her meeting new Russian girlfriends.
(8) Making sure you know who rules the house now.
(9) You cannot be jealous
and (10) never forget that she is the joy of your new life

Excellent List! I had to re-read through it several times, but I only saw myself making one of the mistakes that you listed (and consider myself damn lucky in spite of it!)

Oooops... after some time of communication, and before the first meeting, i send always my more bad photo ( dirty work clothes, gray hair, big beard, ... )... it is my method for check the woman like me for what i am and not for what she think... this allow her to not fall in love from a photo ;) but fall in love of me...
With these photo, i always send bad info about me... not rich, not easy character, body with some fat, ...
When the woman survive this and wish meet me, i think that my chance are more high for a happy end ( sorry, beginning... marriage is only the beginning of a long life )

Hmmmmmm. Aren't you able to ask Russian girl you are going to visit about sending you some weblinks about Russian life, Russian culture and etc... Are you too shy to ask her serious questions about visiting Russia? You must discuss all the details with your girl before you visit her.

Absolutley Arrow, I would try to learn as much about each lady and her family and her city as possiable. These ladies were always impressed when you knew a lot about her cities and her countries history.

Not a bad list Bill, surprised that so.e members back then had such a good grasp off the game. I would disagree with 6) though:
6 Thinking your saving some poor Russian woman's life.
Now come on we all know they are so desperate over there they'll do anything! ;D
I can see why Bruno thought as he did though I found that while you don't want to give a false impression to a FSW end of the day getting them up so you can at least meet them is the main thing. Doing too much to weed out those with possibly not too great motives can weed out too much. After all as the saying goes you don't get nowt for nowt.
Are any of these members still going? I know not all are.
