15th annual May Day get together

The 15th annual get together!    Hard to believe. 15 consective years.   

On Saturday, April 23rd, in two weeks, we will have our annual get together at Central Park in Lewisville.

I will cook hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken over the Bar-B-Que grill. Many of the Russian ladies will bring some covered dishes, usually one of their specialties. 

There is also a nice little children's park with things for kids to play with. Bring the pet dog's, frisbee's.   

The main reason for the annual get together is two fold. One is to help those Russian/Ukraine ladies who are new to the area to meet other Russian ladies who live nearby. Having other Russian/Ukraine ladies to call, to talk with, can help these ladies to adjust more easily once getting here.

This get together is also for those single men who are seeking a Russian/Ukraine bride as it helps them to meet other couples who live in the area and hopefully he and his future bride will be able to know some local couples.  And we should have an additional special treat, as we have over the last few years, some nice single Russian/Ukraine women in attendance as well.

I will start cooking around 11am and usually we start eating around 12 (or 12:30).  First people usually begin showing at about 11am.  Last people usually leave about 5 or 6pm.

My wife and I hope to be there, provided my employer will let me come home from Afghanistan in time.  I hope to leave here the 20th, we shall see.  If  not, maybe next year.

If their is anyone in or around the Houston area who would like to come up to our annual get together in 10 days we have an individual who is driving up from Houston and would enjoy the company during the drive.
