Lost luggage
« on: January 13, 2020, 09:25:58 PM »
I took a trip four months ago and the airline lost my luggage.  I was given $400 by the airline and $880 from my travel insurance.

Now, four months later the airline calls me (local number) to tell me my luggage has been found.

My question is, if I go to the airport and take my luggage will the airline and the travel insurance demand I return the claim money?

Go and find out.  They might not even say anything since it was a settled deal.  Don't bring it up yourself.

I don't think they'll even ask for money back. You gone through a lot of hassle with the lost luggage and claims anyway. If they want the money back, tell them it's spent and keep the luggage. Why do you have to go to the airport anyway? Once my bags were lost for a few days and they delivered them to my house.

When O came to usa, I made out a paper with my name and address, phone and email number on it to print out and put inside her luggage.

She did not do what I said.

Delta lost her luggage; the luggage tag we found out later got torn off.

She filled out a claim and received a check for the items she listed.

From the list of items, they later found the luggage and sent it to our house by UPS.

So the lesson is, always put information inside the luggage because the tag can get torn off.

$1,280.00! These are compensation for the inconvenience and not necessary for the lost luggage itself. You’ve already been ‘inconvenient’. If there’s anything you’d like to get back in the luggage, retrieve it. If not, don’t.

Hell, there are those who would risk subjecting their unknowing snuggle bunny utter humiliation and get it bird caged for all the world’s entertainment for much, much less than that. then convince her somehow he was doing her a favor, and not knowing any better, she actually believes him.

Nothing more hysterical than that.

I don't think he could 'go and find out.'

Likely scenario:  He goes and takes the luggage, and nothing is said because those folks are just baggage handlers.

Later:  He gets notification from both airline and insurance that he must return the money.

Advising  the recovery-- and getting written responses  is the way to handle this.

and maybe the result will be--
