Russian with a Texas twang maybe?

Only hicks and rednecks speak with a "twang", a true South Texan speaks with a Spanish flavor, they roll the "er's" much like the Russian do.  I, on the other hand, due to the many years I've spent overseas, speak with a more soft continental accent.  It drives the women crazy.

I'm guessing that Elen won't understand at first, even though it perfectly normal Russian grammar and syntax. Vocab is a horse of a different color. She's got to know that, e.g., спикать = Eng. speak. (I'm trying to peak her interest.)

As the Poles in Chicago say, parkowalem kara na kornierze! (Unicode don't seem to have the Polish alphabet извините!)

For y'all америкосы, don't even think of looking in a dictionary. You'll never find it, юбеча!

I do understand  that rhyme. But truth tell I was always annoyed when people mixed languages in this way It's only show their lack of respect to both languages and a laziness to learn new language and remember the old one

I will tell you that I have been told a number of times by Russian women that I speak Russian with the "cutest" accent. I wonder if it's the same idea that we AM love to hear RWs speak English. They love to hear AM try to get our tongues around the unpronouncable sounds (to us) in Russian, just as we love to hear a RW try to wrestle with English. I think it's a street that runs both ways.

Here is a good one for you. the first time the Lara came to visit me I asked her prior to her arrival what she wanted to do. "I vant to see waterfront, aquarium, farmer market, mountain, and go for ride on sheep."

To which I replied, "What!? Kinky lady. you want to ride on the sheep?"

"Noooooo, PeeVee. The Sheeeeep!  you know beeg green and white boat in water?"

One popular myth is maturity.  Men need to get it out of their heads that the
FSU girls are more mature than AWs.  Men often experience troubled relationships because they expect a 20's something girl to be as mature as a 35 y.o. woman. 
I think you can take it to the bank that a young woman with no life experience
in Kiev is no more mentally mature than her AW sister in Cleveland.

A 20's something girl in the USA will probably have a checking account,
a credit card, a car, a drivers license, insurance, a savings account and
lives in an apartment without her parents. She pays her bills and budgets
her money. She probably knows how to file her taxes (short form).

An FSUW is likely to have NONE of those things and no knowledge of
those things.
