Server wide gzip compression enabled

One of  those geeky triumphs I feel I just need to share although it is unlikely anyone will notice a difference.

I was finally able to get the web server to compress all HTML output, including HTML generated by PHP scripts like the portal and forum used on this site.

Prior to this stellar achievement each script was using it's own "in house" compression, and only static .html files were being compressed by the server. While that is likely fine on lower traffic sites, I think it did contribute to occasional load spikes here. So now compression is handled by a compiled program written in C for all web pages, rather than on the fly interpreted PHP.  Compression is also higher, with fewer CPU ticks spent doing the compressing.
