Old Tull, been some years since I've listened to them.   And Ian Anderson; he always seemed like a transplant from the Renaissance.  He was a court jester figure, presenting you with the other way around view of things.  Good 'ol prog-rock; where would we have been without it?  We were certainly too stuck-up to listen to the likes of Black Sabbath, Kiss, A. Cooper, Styx, Foghat, Disco, Queen, Elton, McCartney, etc, or at least I was.  The list of snoozers from the '70s is long indeed.

Here are a few nuggets from bands that used to like:

We definitely hung out in different crowds.   ;D

Minus Kiss and disco of course.  I have some taste.   ;)

Excellent choice!  Zappa was a great artist.  And it wasn't always just the music.  It was the performance.

Ah Genesis.  Ya I did see them, back in Chicago, alas after Peter Gabriel had departed.  I never liked Phil Collins.  The group had some creative steam after Gabriel's departure, but never matched the likes of:

I agree.  Phil is okay... even good at times, but Peter had the twisted mind that I kind of like.  Talent and vision will beat just talent anytime.  That is why The Doors were nothing without Jim even though they were very talented as individuals.  They lost the visionary of the group.

My favorite two Genesis albums.
Trespass and Nursery Cryme were also good.

And it has been covered many time... Semisonic being the best...  But you have to love the original of anything.
