globally, English usually means Standard American English, a manner of speech that communicates the content of words with clarity and consistency.
when I was attending university/going to college
we called it Broadcast English

it is a standard for clear, consistent speech recognizable to listeners across dialects. without burdening the listener with the extra cognitive load of filtering out regional differences before reaching the meaning or intent of the speaker.
Speaking Standard American dialect means speaking English that will sound American耀imple, unaffected and distinct, devoid of regional influences.

this is what I speak!
ironically when I was in Texas, people asked if my accent was British
they're such a simple people

Hello Wot!
that's why they don't use Scottish English speakers except as Wind Talkers back during the war with the Fritzs and Jerrys
which utterly confused them

Did your school offer English classes when you were of school age? If so, did you take any?

any degree that leads to my wife passing the NCLEX-RN exam is frankly an RN degree
and that's exactly what I'm going to call it!
be it an AA or BSN diploma...

why thank you for asking!
yes, I believe that 2 out of the 3 "R's" are related to reading and writing the English language
and I completed them all with high grades

being pre-digital they didn't offer "cut and paste"
which is what I employed to create the post you are referring to

any avant-garde style does tend to confuse the bourgeois and this tends to give birth to their reactionary criticisms
they can never penetrate style to arrive at its substance
all messages for them must be simplified and already pre-interpreted

First, it's Kyiv, not Kiev.

Second, even if a FSU individual knows English, nuances are lost, and vice versa.

So what happens to Chicken Kiev? Does it become Chicken Kyiv ;D

the royal navy merged with the NHS (National Health Service)
and is now the RN (Royal Nursing)

Hi Olga !

Sorry, I can't offer to partner with you - but hopefully you might find someone who is a member, here?

In the meantime I recommend the BBC sites: http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/russian/course/lower-intermediate/unit-1/ for various levels of interactive and FREE learning

Plus, you'll learn REAL English - not that nasally repugnant nonsense from across the pond ;)

Welcome to the forum Olga. If you don't find a partner and you still want to learn English, you can learn English here.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.
