Smoothing the path to applying for a visa / residency
« on: May 06, 2015, 02:24:21 AM »
I am dating a RU women who has been declined - twice - for a US Visa..... I'm sure the US / Canadians / Aussies and Brits share such data.

These 'declines' long predate me and subsequently S.C. has had Schengen Visas to visit member EU nations - such as  Spain.

I am paranoid about the British saying 'no', so we have followed a course of building up a history of meetings in:

1/ Russia - several times

2/ Turkey - issued free to Russian nationals

and now it was time to apply to an EU nation...

3/ Cyprus - has traditionally LOVED Russian tourists..      Applied online at http://www.mfa.gov.cy/mfa/embassies/moscowembassy.nsf/DMLindex_en/DMLindex_en?OpenDocument  - make sure the format used is word 2003 - or you will get a terse msg !

The visa arrived in 5 minutes !))  This must be the easiest EU nation to get a VISA for former FSU folk.

4/ Next stop a Schengen visa  and

THEN

United Kingdom

Please excuse the Curmudgeon in my posts ..he will be cured by being reunited with his loved one ;)
