There will be some issues to overcome for you.
In general Russians are not negative about Indian people. However they are aware of Indian culture.
First of all, you need to be having a very good job as you need to be able to provide for your wife.
Do not expect to be given a ticket to Russia to work there, or your wif maintaining you.

Second there is this thing in Indian culture that the parents usually select a wife for their son.
Are you free of that issue? If not, do not expect RW to allow you having a second wife, or them becoming a bhabi.

What is the general opinion of Russians towards India (located in South Asia) and Indians? 

What is more important is your opinion about yourself ? Some of them are familiar with Indian culture and a few of them know the names of the bollywood stars too. (My girl sent me the you tube links of several movies/songs she watched, when she was growing up. She is 25)

This is both good and bad.  Bad, because , they know the challenges of living in a developing country, the influence of parents in Indian society, red tape in India, pollution, etc.

Good because, most indian men (i repeat most and not ALL) are moderate in their views, highly educated and have good family values.

Can you offer a better future (in every aspect) than what they can get in their home land ?

The same way you have choices, they have choices too.

Is there another India elsewhere that you don't want to be confused with ?

Yes, the one that has Red Indians!

Plus, of course, the East Indies (for the spice trade) and the West Indies (for cricket, reggae and beautiful beaches which get hit by hurricanes).
