Who's to Blame for the Minsk Metro Bomb?

A bombing in the Minsk metro on Monday killed at least 12 people and injured more than 200. Belarus has faced political turmoil since President Aleksander G. Lukashenko was re-elected in December, with the opposition claiming that the election was rigged.

My wife and her son have been following this closely and they talk with friends and family back home. So far, there appears to be no one in particular being selected for the blame. Of course Lukashenko is using this as an excuse to round up just about anybody who offends him. Too bad the bomb did not go off in his office.

It would be interesting if Belarussians stood up and protested against the administration, a la ME, and Lukashenko decided to follow Quaddafi's antics by bombing his people and squash any protest demanding his departure....

Absolutely nothing.

And what would Russia do if he started killing ethnic Russians, which many Belarussians are? Lukashenko has been a pain in Putin's side for some time.

Luka may me a criminal, but he's not stoopid.
