other places also have incidents of race related police events
not just the US imo
we are lucky we dont have the riots to go with them ....
They have a general respect for law and order.
most citizens who display this trait dont have any issues
no other industrialized country with Western values has the level of deaths in police custody that occurs in the United States annually.
australias indigenous population is pretty high up there percentage wise in comaprison to the US id think ,
over the years gov of both political persuasions have held numerous enquiries into black deaths in custody , thrown more money at it and it still goes on here
How do police in other countries function without resorting to killing people?
not sure they do to be honest, id think most countrys have some level of it , just the US % is clearly higher , here in australia it happens , but not usually a shooting , mainly because we have a very different gun culture and that includes our police service
we see a fight type of attitude/ lack of respect to law & society values among the indigenous population , that is deeply entrenched across multi generations , kids parents , grandparents , a large % of them with a chip on their shoulder that they are owed something and dont need to conform to the usual norms , that it is ok to defy authority from the first encounter
there no makes up a large % of criminal convictions population wise , they argue it is racist based, while some of it may be , most is ime , purely based on their behaviour and attitude to the laws of our country and the gov agencies that service them
