Interesting piece by a Russian journalist working for Newsweek's The Daily Beast.  She was held by the terrorists, and asserts Strelkov claims that in all of Donbass, with a population of about 4.5 million, only 1,000 locals joined the terrorist ranks.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/07/25/putin-s-number-one-gunman-in-ukraine-warns-him-of-possible-defeat.html

He made a public call in May for support complaining that few locals were joining them and those who did show up usually left (see video starting at 2:43). Here he brings up that they could not even recruit one thousand men among the 4+ million in the region and given that so few local men were joining, he officially declared that they would accept women recruits.

Much of the video is Strelkov whining about how the young men aren't showing up to fight and that his only hope is that the Russian Army will invade...

But this simply can't be.
I was ridiculed for posting a link about this just days ago.

The U.S. intelligence analysts must be wrong. :)

I take it you don't believe that an aircraft might have shot down MH17.

You should know better than anyone Boe that ALL of the theories out there today, including the mainstream media ones are just that, theories.

If you want to add 'conspiracy' before theory you are more than entitled to do so.

I have never posted that one version of what has been printed as speculation is the truth.

I have posted my belief, which is that the terrorists shot down the plane with a BUK missile, but I don't believe shooting down a civilian aircraft was intentional.

I read this little piece earlier today....Ron Paul believes that the US govt. has a lot of information regarding the downing of the plane buy they refuse to release it.  Speculation is they hide it because it doesn't support the assertion that the Russian's or separatists shot the plane down.    If they have information they should release it.

Ron Paul Says U.S. 'Likely Hiding Truth' About MH17 Crash

The U.S. government "knows a lot more" than it's letting on about the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash and is "likely hiding [the] truth," according to former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas).
In an Aug. 7 post on his news site, Voices of Liberty, Paul said he believes the U.S., with all its intelligence-gathering capabilities, should have a clear idea of what happened on July 17 when MH17 was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board. But much of that information, he says, has likely been withheld from the public."The U.S. government has grown strangely quite on the accusation that it was Russia or her allies that brought down the Malaysian airliner with a buck anti-aircraft missile ........

A Memo to President Obama: Release the evidence about the downing of MH17.

Quote from: VIPS Memo
...As veteran intelligence analysts accustomed to waiting, except in emergency circumstances, for conclusive information before rushing to judgment, we believe that the charges against Russia should be rooted in solid, far more convincing evidence. And that goes in spades with respect to inflammatory incidents like the shoot-down of an airliner. We are also troubled by the amateurish manner in which fuzzy and flimsy evidence has been served up – some of it via “social media.”

As intelligence professionals we are embarrassed by the unprofessional use of partial intelligence information. As Americans, we find ourselves hoping that, if you indeed have more conclusive evidence, you will find a way to make it public without further delay. In charging Russia with being directly or indirectly responsible, Secretary of State John Kerry has been particularly definitive. Not so the evidence. His statements seem premature and bear earmarks of an attempt to “poison the jury pool.”....

....If the U.S. has more convincing evidence than what has so far been adduced concerning responsibility for shooting down Flight 17, we believe it would be best to find a way to make that intelligence public – even at the risk of compromising “sources and methods.” Moreover, we suggest you instruct your subordinates not to cheapen U.S. credibility by releasing key information via social media like Twitter and Facebook....

A Dutch bloke has started an online petition:

Quote
3 Hours after the attack on Malaysia Airlines MH17 the politicians and media were certain it was the Separatists that shot MH17 down. Russia was said to have delivered the weapons and trained the people to use these weapons.

Up untill now there has been no evidence that prove this right. The accusations and sanctions against Russia, who have been accused of delivering the weapons, can harm our economy ceriously and brings us in a life threatening situation with Russia.

We can conclude that the news on the investigation to the cause of this terrible accident has stopped. The only reason for this we can think of is that the airplane was shot down by our new allies, the Ukraine. There are strong indications that a Ukraine Su-25 fighter was flying with MH17.
To avoid all confusion we demand full disclosure on the progress of the investigation!

We demand that all governments involved in the investigation will be fully transparent and that their findings also reflect transparency during this investigation. If it was the Ukraine that caused MH17 to come down we have the right to know. We do not want an unlawful conflict with Russia. There has to be very solid evidence before accusing anyone. In the mean time we want the economical sanctions against Russia revoked.

You can sign it here if you are so inclined: http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/The_Dutch_Government_We_demand_a_public_investigation_to_the_cause_of_the_disaster_of_MH17/?cMcSkib

It is not Shadow because Shadow is a much better writer.   I guess the petitioner is some exporter to Russia.

-  From the petition, "We can conclude that the news on the investigation to the cause of this terrible accident has stopped."

The lack of news about the investigation perhaps is due to the inability of the researchers to investigate the site because of continued fighting between rebels and government troops.

-  From the petition, "In the mean time we want the economical sanctions against Russia revoked."

The sanctions will soon be tightened further, and it has nothing to do with MK17.

Yeah, good luck with that. People in Hell want ice water. Perhaps Manny, you and Mr. Petition could send that to the Kremlin. It was the terrorist  Separatists that closed the scene and sent everything to Moscow. After they pilfered the loose change, credit cards and make-up

Minutes after MH17 is shot down, the terrorists declare they have just shot down an aircraft, yet somehow, Ukraine was aiming for Putin's presidential plane/brought down the plane to draw the West into the conflict/decided conspiracy theorists didn't have enough to post about.  Or, maybe it was the CIA.  They're to blame for everything!
