What next?

Confiscation of properties owned by non-Russians.

Yes, that is our worry about the apartment in Yalta.

Another member told me that his wife is unable to sell her properties in Crimea...  no takers.

You surely can't be surprised by that, Doug - despite all the propaganda about how life in Crimea is now wonderful with a booming economy...not!

It's hard to know what to believe.  Even Larissa's girlfriends still paint a favorable picture of life in Crimea with some 'minor' inconveniences.  I am just so glad that I got to visit Sevastopol and the underground sub base in Balaklava before the Russian invasion.

Confiscation of properties owned by non-Russians.

from all accounts that has been normal practice for the last 2 years or so if your a ukrainian or tartar in crimea

my summation from persons living there  is your treatment by authoritys is  varying depending on your allegiance to either russia or ukraine , in the invasion and takeover of crimea

for non russian citizens owning property their may have varying difficultys going forward imo

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Doug, it may be worthwhile to gently check around with Larissa's friends to see if any might be interested in buying her property.

Likely a big discount required . . . and measure that against the (unknown) probability of getting Zero at some point.

I also had two very nice month long trips to Crimea . . . back before.
Many great memories and pics.

Wasn't your wife for Crimea being annexed by Russia? How does she feel about the new management now?
