The Price of Gasoline
« on: April 24, 2020, 03:06:45 PM »
Yesterday...I filled up at $0.48 a gallon.
I had  $0.75 in Kroger fuel points.
 I can't remember when I gas this cheap---- 1968?
Can it get any lower?

Not sure what you meant by that? Did you mean the gas cost $1.23/gal and got a Kroger point discount of $0.75/gal?

I hear all these absurd prices at the pump, yet premium where we're at is still just below $4.00/gal. Believe me, that is actually lower than normal for us.

What is absurd about $1.23 [reg gas]? That's all it's worth. I only drive [usually] about 5 miles a day.
Do you live in California where just about everything is un-affordable?

The last time I filled up for $1.25 a gallon(.95L) was in the 90's after Kuwait thanked us with some cheap oil. Right now gas is $2.60 where I live and that is considered cheap.

Yeppers. California is a beast. But it's all relative. Wages balances out the obscene price differential. Of course, if we didn't have the likes of fathertime and jone blindly voting for silly measures designed to deceive the gullibles into believing the taxes are for road repairs and maintenance, our gas prices wouldn't be where they are today and be taxed far more than any other states, maybe except NY/Hawaii.

Couple that with the alleged 'seasonal detergent' they tell us the refineries use to *flatten the smog curve*, etc..
