Places to meet
« on: February 14, 2019, 12:25:48 AM »
Ukraine used to be a great place for westerners to meet FSU folk as visas were  not an issue.

Cyprus  is great for Russians to meet westerners for the same reason,

I am looking at 'Maxx's' Georgia to hold a series of biz meetings ...more likely in Tblisi..as it has more cultural significance..

To this end I am interested in places to see and restaurants  to eat..plus best agencies /  realtors to book apartments..not hotels.

The point you are missing..

I don't offer advice on stuff about which I've no idea ....  and I appreciate those who take the time to respond - and even learn from it  )

I met FSUW in 12 countries:  Dominican Republic, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Mexico, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Costa Rica, Turkey and Egypt  (in no particular order).

When recommending a destination, much depends upon a person's interests (culture, nature, history, beach, nature, shopping, food).  I happen to be one of those who embraces all of the above.

From my perspective, which BTW differs from the FSUW perspective:

                         Best:  Vietnam, Mexico
Worse:  Cyprus (and I could include Egypt and Turkey because of the tedium of  staying at
                                     resorts catering to FSU folks)

I stayed in an apartment only in Cyprus.  Turkey, Egypt and DR were resort vacations.  The others were self-guided tours.

Rather than blabbing away about things that might never interest you, I would be happy to comment on specifics.
